1.The official entry shall be a live-action short film with a running time of seven (7) to fifteen (15) minutes, inclusive of opening and closing credits.
2.Each participating team shall consist of ten (10) to fifteen (15) officially registered members, including actors and production staff. Production staff may also serve as actors.
3.The storyline shall revolve around the official theme: "DCC: Celebrating 78 Years of God's Grace."
4.The short film must be originally conceptualized, written, directed, filmed, and produced by the participating students. It must not have been previously published, screened, awarded, or uploaded on YouTube, Facebook, TikTok, or any other online platform prior to the official SIDLAK screening.
5.The film must not infringe upon any copyright, trademark, or intellectual property rights. Participants shall be responsible for securing permission for any copyrighted material used in the production.
6.The film shall carry a General Audience (G) rating and must not contain excessive violence, profanity, nudity, explicit sexual content, illegal drug use, hate speech, or any material deemed offensive or inappropriate for an academic audience.
7.Artificial Intelligence (AI) may be used only as a production aid (e.g., editing assistance, subtitles, or planning). AI-generated videos, AI-generated actors, AI-generated voice performances, or AI-generated scenes shall not be permitted. The story, performances, cinematography, and creative ex*****on must primarily reflect the work of the participating students.
8.Five (5) printed copies of the final script shall be submitted, typed in Times New Roman, 12-point font, single-spaced, with normal margins on long bond paper.
9.The final video shall be submitted in MP4 format (minimum 1080p Full HD resolution) together with the script on or before the official deadline prescribed by the SIDLAK Committee.
10.5 points will be deducted if the film, script, poster, and teaser (individually) submitted beyond deadline.
11.Once submitted, no revisions or replacement of the official entry shall be permitted unless approved by the SIDLAK Committee due to technical concerns.
11.Each official entry shall submit an official movie poster in JPG and PNG formats according to the specifications and deadline set by the SIDLAK Committee.
12.Each official entry shall also submit an official teaser trailer in MP4 format according to the prescribed deadline.
13.Official screenings shall be conducted during the scheduled SIDLAK Film Festival period as announced by the SIDLAK Committee.
14. All participants must obtain consent from individuals appearing in the film and ensure that filming locations comply with applicable institutional policies and legal requirements.
15.Dangerous stunts, illegal activities, cruelty to animals, or actions that endanger participants or the public during production are strictly prohibited.
16.By submitting an entry, participants grant Davao Central College a non-exclusive right to screen, archive, exhibit, and use the film for educational, promotional, and institutional purposes with proper acknowledgment of the creators.
17.The decision of the Board of Judges shall be final, irrevocable, and non-appealable.
18.All official entries shall automatically be considered for the Special Awards under the Short Film category based on the submitted film. No separate application or nomination shall be required.
