𝐁𝐚𝐜𝐤-𝐭𝐨-𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥 𝐎𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐊𝐢𝐝𝐬

The Davao City Library and Information Center successfully conducted a Back-to-School Orientation for Kids, welcoming young learners as they begin a new school year.

The activity introduced the children to the library’s services, resources, and programs that support their learning journey. Proper library etiquette was also discussed to guide participants on responsible and respectful use of library spaces and materials.

This orientation continues to encourage a love for reading while helping young library users become more confident, mindful, and independent learners.

As part of the 𝐁𝐚𝐜𝐤-𝐭𝐨-𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥 𝐀𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐃𝐚𝐯𝐚𝐨 𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐋𝐢𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐈𝐧𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐂𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫 , a 𝐖𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐒𝐤𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐬 𝐄𝐧𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦 will be conducted on 𝐉𝐮𝐧𝐞 𝟐𝟓, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔, 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝟏:𝟎𝟎 𝐏𝐌 to 𝟓:𝟎𝟎 𝐏𝐌 at the 𝐂𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐧 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐭 𝐋𝐢𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐫𝐲.

The activity aims to encourage young learners to develop their writing skills, creativity, and self-expression through engaging discussions and writing exercises. Participants will also have the opportunity to learn from 𝐌𝐫. 𝐅𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐬 𝐄𝐯𝐚𝐧 𝐋. 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐲𝐚𝐧, a writer who will share valuable insights and techniques in creative writing.

Through this program, the Davao City Library and Information Center continues its commitment to promoting literacy, learning, and creativity among the youth of Davao City.

Last 𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗲 𝟭𝟲, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, the 𝗠𝗼𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗲 𝗟𝗶𝗯𝗿𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗕𝘂𝘀 visited 𝗟𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿 𝗧𝗮𝗺𝘂𝗴𝗮𝗻 𝗘𝗹𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 as part of its continuing outreach program for School Year 2026–2027. Learners actively participated in storytelling and book reading sessions designed to foster a love for reading and enhance their literacy skills. In addition, a Disaster Education Orientation, First Aid Training, and Basic Life Support (BLS) orientation were conducted to equip students with essential knowledge and skills on safety, preparedness, and emergency response.

Through these engaging and educational activities, the Mobile Library continues to promote literacy while empowering young learners with valuable life skills. Together, we are building informed, resilient, and lifelong learners—one community at a time. 📖🚍💛

On June 15, 2026, the Mobile Library Bus made its first visit to 𝗧𝗮𝗴𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗼 𝗘𝗹𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹, marking the start of the 2026–2027 school year. Learners participated in a variety of enriching activities, including storytelling and book reading sessions that promoted literacy and a love for reading. To strengthen disaster preparedness and safety awareness among the students, a Disaster Education Orientation, First Aid Training, and Basic Life Support (BLS) orientation were also conducted.

Through these meaningful activities, the Mobile Library continues to support both literacy and community resilience by bringing knowledge, learning opportunities, and essential life skills closer to young learners. In line with the class and work suspension declared by the City Government of Davao following the recent earthquake, the Davao City Library & Information Center (DCLIC) is CLOSED today, June 8, 2026.

Library operations and services are suspended as the library undergoes safety inspections and assessment of the facility to ensure the safety of our patrons and staff.
