The University of the Philippines Mindanao, through the Office of Student Affairs and in partnership with the Public Employment Service Office (PESO), successfully concluded the two-day Job Fair Program 2026: Bridging the Gap from University to Workplace. The event served as a platform for students and graduates to gain valuable knowledge, build professional connections, and explore opportunities that will help them transition from academic life to the world of work.
The first day featured a ๐๐ซ๐-๐๐ฆ๐ฉ๐ฅ๐จ๐ฒ๐ฆ๐๐ง๐ญ ๐๐ซ๐ข๐๐ง๐ญ๐๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง ๐๐๐ฆ๐ข๐ง๐๐ซ held at Lorenzo Hall, Administration Building, where participants learned from distinguished industry professionals. Ms. Mary Rose Ofianga, MM, Business Coach and Program Manager of the Wadhwani Foundation Entrepreneurship Program, shared insights on Understanding the Job Market, Application Process, and Acing the Interview, equipping participants with practical strategies for navigating today's competitive employment landscape. Meanwhile, Ms. Sharon L. Binwag-Villalon, Director of Human Resources and People Support of Dole Philippines, Inc. โ Stanfilco Division, delivered an engaging discussion on The Right Fit: Things to Consider When Looking for a Job, encouraging students to make career decisions that align with their values, strengths, aspirations, and overall well-being. Lastly, Mr. Felix Te Fabian, CPA, Consultant of Fabian and Associates, CPA, discussed Practical Financial Literacy, emphasizing the importance of sound financial management, responsible decision-making, and long-term financial stability for young professionals.
The second day transformed learning into action through the ๐๐๐ฆ๐ฉ๐ฎ๐ฌ ๐๐จ๐ ๐
๐๐ข๐ซ held at the Atrium, Mini-Theater, and CHSS Rooms. A total of 26 companies and industry partners participated in the recruitment event, providing students, interns, and graduates with direct access to employment opportunities across various sectors. Participants were able to engage with recruiters, submit applications, and undergo interviews, bringing them one step closer to their professional goals.
To further support employment readiness, a ๐๐ง๐-๐๐ญ๐จ๐ฉ ๐๐ก๐จ๐ฉ was made available through the participation of PhilHealth, SSS , and Pag-IBIG, allowing attendees to access information and services related to their government membership and pre-employment requirements. The successful implementation of the Job Fair was made possible through the collaborative efforts of the University and its co-organizer, Public Employment Service Office (PESO), whose continued partnership helps connect aspiring professionals with meaningful career opportunities.
