𝐃𝐀𝐕𝐀𝐎 𝐂𝐈𝐓𝐘 — Ipinagdiwang ng Piedad Central Elementary School (PCES) ang Indigenous Peoples (IP) Day sa isinagawang flag ceremony nitong Lunes, Agosto 10, 2026, bilang pagkilala at pagpapahalaga sa kultura, tradisyon, at pagkakakilanlan ng mga katutubong pamayanan.

Bitbit ang temang “𝙃𝙤𝙣𝙤𝙪𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙄𝙣𝙙𝙞𝙜𝙚𝙣𝙤𝙪𝙨 𝙈𝙞𝙙𝙬𝙞𝙫𝙚𝙨: 𝙎𝙖𝙛𝙚𝙜𝙪𝙖𝙧𝙙𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙇𝙞𝙛𝙚 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙒𝙚𝙡𝙡-𝘽𝙚𝙞𝙣𝙜,” nakiisa sa pagdiriwang ang mga mag-aaral mula Kinder, SNED, at Grades 1–6, kasama ang kanilang mga g**o.

Pinangunahan ang aktibidad ni 𝙄𝙋 𝙎𝙘𝙝𝙤𝙤𝙡 𝘾𝙤𝙤𝙧𝙙𝙞𝙣𝙖𝙩𝙤𝙧 𝙎𝙝𝙖𝙧𝙤𝙣 𝙕. 𝙎𝙖𝙣𝙘𝙝𝙚𝙯, katuwang si 𝙄𝙋 𝘿𝙞𝙨𝙩𝙧𝙞𝙘𝙩 𝘾𝙤𝙤𝙧𝙙𝙞𝙣𝙖𝙩𝙤𝙧 𝙅𝙤𝙮 𝘽. 𝘽𝙖𝙡𝙤, isang kasapi ng Bagobo Tagabawa community.

Bilang bahagi ng pagdiriwang, nagsuot ang mga mag-aaral at g**o ng kanilang makukulay na katutubong kasuotan, na nagsilbing pagpapakita ng pagmamalaki sa kanilang kultura at pinagmulan.

Isinagawa rin ang Trivia with Prizes upang madagdagan ang kaalaman ng mga mag-aaral tungkol sa mga katutubo, kanilang mga tradisyon, at kulturang minana mula sa kanilang mga ninuno.

Hinimok ni Sanchez ang mga mag-aaral na ipagmalaki ang kanilang pinagmulan at huwag ikahiya ang kanilang tribo.

Sa pamamagitan ng pagdiriwang, binigyang-diin ng PCES ang kahalagahan ng paggalang, pagkilala, at pagpapanatili ng kultura at tradisyon ng mga Indigenous Peoples.

Ipinakita rin ng aktibidad na ang kultura ay hindi lamang bahagi ng nakaraan, kundi isang mahalagang pamana na dapat ipagmalaki, pangalagaan, at maipasa sa susunod na henerasyon.

𝗗𝗔𝗩𝗔𝗢 𝗖𝗜𝗧𝗬, 𝗣𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀 — Thirty-one young student journalists from Piedad Central Elementary School (PCES) showcased their reporting and storytelling skills at the 𝘿𝙖𝙫𝙖𝙤 𝘾𝙞𝙩𝙮 𝘾𝙖𝙢𝙥𝙪𝙨 𝙅𝙤𝙪𝙧𝙣𝙖𝙡𝙞𝙨𝙢 𝘼𝙘𝙖𝙙𝙚𝙢𝙮 𝙔𝙚𝙖𝙧 𝙄𝙑, held at Crossing Bayabas National High School on August 8, 2026.

This year’s training focused on the theme "𝙎𝙩𝙧𝙚𝙣𝙜𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙎𝙩𝙪𝙙𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙅𝙤𝙪𝙧𝙣𝙖𝙡𝙞𝙨𝙢 𝙞𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝘼𝙜𝙚 𝙤𝙛 𝘼𝙄," helping participants learn how to craft authentic, high-quality stories in an era of growing digital automation.

The delegation featured a fresh wave of young talent from Grades 3 and 4 stepping up to the challenge alongside seasoned peers. Leading the school's triumph were five Grade 6 campus journalists who secured top recognition for producing the best outputs in their respective categories:

𝗔𝗹𝗲𝘅𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗿𝗶𝗮 𝗕𝗲𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 (𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗲 𝟲)– 6th Place, Editorial Writing (English)

The students were guided by their school paper advisers, 𝙅𝙚𝙡𝙡𝙮 𝘼𝙣𝙣 𝘼. 𝙁𝙡𝙤𝙧𝙞𝙣 (𝙀𝙣𝙜𝙡𝙞𝙨𝙝) 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙎𝙝𝙧𝙚𝙢𝙞𝙚 𝙑. 𝙏𝙖𝙨𝙤𝙣𝙜 (𝙁𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙥𝙞𝙣𝙤). Both teachers helped prepare the team to write clear, honest, and ethical news stories.

The learning does not stop here. Four PCES mobile journalists are set to attend the next session of the training series on August 15–16 to build their skills in digital storytelling.

In a world where climate change increasingly shapes what ends up on our dining tables, health and nature can no longer be treated as separate conversations. This July, the classrooms and grounds of 𝙋𝙞𝙚𝙙𝙖𝙙 𝘾𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙧𝙖𝙡 𝙀𝙡𝙚𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙖𝙧𝙮 𝙎𝙘𝙝𝙤𝙤𝙡 (𝙋𝘾𝙀𝙎) transformed into vibrant hubs of green discovery as the school spent the entire month celebrating 𝗡𝘂𝘁𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲.

Carrying the national subtheme, “𝙉𝙪𝙩𝙧𝙞𝙨𝙮𝙤𝙣 𝙖𝙩 𝙆𝙖𝙡𝙞𝙠𝙖𝙨𝙖𝙣, 𝘼𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙋𝙖𝙣𝙜𝙖𝙡𝙖𝙜𝙖𝙖𝙣!” and guided by 𝗗𝗲𝗽𝗘𝗱 𝗠𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘂𝗺 𝗡𝗼. 𝟬𝟰𝟱, 𝘀. 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, PCES took a fresh, eco-conscious approach to health. Rather than focusing solely on traditional dietary advice, the month-long observance highlighted how the well-being of young learners is deeply intertwined with the health of the planet.

Under the leadership of School TLE Coordinator 𝙀𝙚𝙣𝙖 𝙆𝙧𝙞𝙨𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙖 𝙎. 𝙁𝙧𝙪𝙩𝙤, the celebration rooted itself directly in everyday learning environments.

This guiding philosophy echoed through every activity as students discovered that taking care of their bodies starts with taking care of the environment.

To bring these principles to life, PCES learners engaged in interactive, hands-on classroom activities designed to foster both creativity and sustainable habits:

𝙋𝙤𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙧 𝙈𝙖𝙠𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝘾𝙤𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙨𝙩𝙨: Young artists picked up their brushes and crayons to depict stories of environmental stewardship, sustainable farming, and nutritional health.

𝙁𝙞𝙧𝙚𝙡𝙚𝙨𝙨 𝘾𝙤𝙤𝙠𝙞𝙣𝙜 & 𝘾𝙪𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙖𝙧𝙮 𝙎𝙝𝙤𝙬𝙘𝙖𝙨𝙚𝙨: Desks became mini culinary stations as students prepared safe, eco-friendly meals. From colorful fruit displays showcasing local, seasonal produce to fresh salad creations and sandwiches, pupils learned the joy of clean, simple food preparation without relying on energy-heavy cooking methods.

SNED Learners Shine
Inclusivity stood at the heart of PCES's Nutrition Month celebration, with Special Needs Education (SNED) learners actively participating in the month-long activities. Demonstrating their unique talents, creativity, and enthusiasm, the SNED pupils engaged in hands-on culinary tasks and artistic showcases tailored to their abilities. Their joyful involvement highlighted that healthy living, environmental awareness, and creative expression are opportunities shared by every learner in the school community.

𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗪𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀: 𝗗𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗧𝗼𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘀 𝗕𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵

Recognizing that a healthy school community starts with healthy educators, PCES also prioritized faculty wellness as part of the month’s festivities. The teaching staff energizingly took part in a Zumba Dance Session, designed to promote physical fitness, stress relief, and overall well-being among educators.

This special wellness initiative was generously sponsored by 𝙈𝙧. & 𝙈𝙧𝙨. 𝙅𝙞𝙣𝙠𝙮 𝙍𝙤𝙨𝙚 𝙑𝙖𝙣𝙘𝙚 𝙑𝙖𝙡 𝙈. 𝙂𝙤𝙣𝙯𝙖𝙡𝙚𝙨, whose support ensured the school's faculty remained active, empowered, and inspired to lead by example.

What set this year’s celebration apart was its seamless integration into the daily curriculum. Instead of treating Nutrition Month as a standalone event, PCES teachers wove its core values across multiple subject areas:

𝙀𝙙𝙪𝙠𝙖𝙨𝙮𝙤𝙣𝙜 𝙋𝙖𝙣𝙩𝙖𝙝𝙖𝙣𝙖𝙣 𝙖𝙩 𝙋𝙖𝙣𝙜𝙠𝙖𝙗𝙪𝙝𝙖𝙮𝙖𝙣 (𝙀𝙋𝙋): Learners practiced sustainable food preparation, safe kitchen techniques, and actionable ways to reduce food waste.

𝙎𝙘𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚: Lessons focused on understanding ecosystems, local food systems, and how changing climate patterns impact food security.

𝙂𝙈𝙍𝘾 / 𝙀𝙨𝙋: Classrooms held reflections on environmental stewardship, respect for nature, and personal wellness as a personal responsibility.

𝙃𝙚𝙖𝙡𝙩𝙝: Discussions centered on the benefits of balanced diets, eating local and seasonal foods, and combating malnutrition.

𝘼𝙧𝙖𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙋𝙖𝙣𝙡𝙞𝙥𝙪𝙣𝙖𝙣 (𝘼𝙋): Students explored community action, supporting local agricultural workers, and building climate-resilient food practices.

By aligning daily lessons with the goals of the 𝗣𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗔𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗡𝘂𝘁𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 (𝗣𝗣𝗔𝗡 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟯–𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟴), Piedad Central Elementary School demonstrated that nutrition education reaches far beyond the cafeteria.

Through simple, classroom-based actions and a united school community—where both teachers and students actively participate—PCES has empowered its community not only to choose healthier lifestyles today, but also to grow into responsible stewards of the Earth tomorrow.

Sa bawat pag-ikot ng mundo, tila kasabay ring tumatakbo ang oras patungo sa isang hinaharap na pinatatakbo ng mga algorithm at screen. Sa gitna ng mabilis na pagbabagong ito, isang mahalagang tanong ang madalas nating malimutan: Nasaan na nga ba ang ating sariling wika at kultura?

Sa 𝙋𝙞𝙚𝙙𝙖𝙙 𝘾𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙧𝙖𝙡 𝙀𝙡𝙚𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙖𝙧𝙮 𝙎𝙘𝙝𝙤𝙤𝙡 (𝙋𝘾𝙀𝙎), ibinigay ang isang malinaw at makulay na sagot. Sa pagbubukas ng 𝘽𝙪𝙬𝙖𝙣 𝙣𝙜 𝙒𝙞𝙠𝙖 ngayong Agosto, pinatunayan ng buong pamayanan ng PCES na ang tradisyon at ang makabagong teknolohiya ay hindi magkalaban—bagkus, sila ay magkatuwang.

Nagsimula ang umaga, sa ika 𝟯 𝗻𝗴 𝗔𝗴𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗮𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 sa isang makulay na eksena sa ginanap na 𝙛𝙡𝙖𝙜 𝙘𝙚𝙧𝙚𝙢𝙤𝙣𝙮. Hindi lamang ordinaryong uniporme ang pumasok sa pintuan ng paaralan; bumida ang makukulay na pambansa at katutubong kasuotan na isinuot ng mga mag-aaral at mga g**o. Sa bawat baro’t saya, barong Tagalog, at katutubong habi na kanilang ipinamalas, tila buhay na buhay na binalikan ang yaman ng ating kasaysayan.

Hindi lamang sa salita buhay ang pagdiriwang, kundi maging sa gawa. Masayang nakiisa ang mga mag-aaral sa interaktibong 𝙩𝙧𝙞𝙫𝙞𝙖 𝙜𝙖𝙢𝙚 kung saan hindi lang kaalaman ang nadagdagan, kundi maging ang mga papremyong kanilang inuwi.

Ipinamalas din ng mga mag-aaral ang kani-kanilang angking talento sa iba't ibang larangan:

𝙎𝙞𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙣𝙜 𝙎𝙖𝙮𝙖𝙬: Naghandog ng isang energikong pampasiglang bilang ang mga opisyal ng PCES Supreme Elementary Learner Government (SELG).

𝙈𝙖𝙩𝙖𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙝𝙖𝙜𝙖𝙣𝙜 𝙏𝙪𝙡𝙖: Damang-dama ang bawat linya ng tulang itinanghal ng mga mag-aaral mula sa Grade 3 - Obando.

𝙏𝙞𝙣𝙞𝙜 𝙣𝙜 𝙄𝙣𝙨𝙥𝙞𝙧𝙖𝙨𝙮𝙤𝙣:Isang madamdaming pag-awit ang inihandog ni Jande Bacor mula sa Grade 5 - Aguinaldo na nag-iwan ng ngiti sa mukha ng bawat nakikinig.

𝙆𝙪𝙡𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙖 𝙖𝙩 𝙋𝙖𝙡𝙖𝙠𝙖𝙨𝙖𝙣: Nakamamanghang demonstrasyon naman ang ipinamalas ng PCES Arnisador sa pamamahala ng kanilang mga tagapagsanay na sina Gng. Jinky Rose at G. Vance Val Gonzales, na nagpakita ng lakas at disiplina ng larong Pinoy.

Ang wikang Filipino ay ang tulay na nag-uugnay sa ating nakaraan at sa ating hinaharap. Sa PCES, pormal nang nabuksan ang pinto para sa isang buwang puno ng pagkatuto, sining, at pagmamahal sa bayan. Isang patunay na sa kabila ng pagbabago ng panahon, ang tatak Pilipino ay mananatiling buhay, makulay, at nagniningning. # # #
