Remembering the Life of our Dear Arkischolar

Today, the 𝗨𝗔𝗣𝗦𝗔 𝗨𝗣𝗠𝗶𝗻 community gathers to pay our final respects and honor the legacy of one of our own, Silvestre Noval III.

To many of us, he was simply 𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐫𝐝𝐲—a brilliant creative of Batch 2022 who extended his craft far beyond the university walls. As an Iskolar ng Bayan, he championed creative excellence and became a true inspiration to both his peers and juniors.

Beyond his talent, Thirdy was a cornerstone of our chapter, serving with dedication as:
• Commissioner on Sponsorships (2023-2024)
• First Year Representative (2022-2023)

He was a really good friend and a selfless contributor who actively helped the organization and the Arki community in every way he could. His kindness, passion, perseverance, and strength will always live on in the hearts of the people he inspired.

The UPMin BS Architecture Community and UAPSA UPMin extend our deepest condolences to the bereaved family and friends.

As part of our 𝐁𝐀𝐊𝐀𝐒: 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐭𝐡 showcase, UAPSA-UP Mindanao is proud to spotlight the architectural landmarks that have defined Davao City’s skyline and identity. Through meticulous documentation and rendering, our students have retraced the lines of these iconic structures, honoring the "Legacy of Brilliance" they represent.

𝐅𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐒𝐩𝐨𝐭𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬:
- 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑳𝒂𝒕 𝑨𝒏𝒄𝒆𝒔𝒕𝒓𝒂𝒍 𝑯𝒐𝒖𝒔𝒆: A masterclass in adaptive reuse and the preservation of our pre-war residential heritage.
- 𝑶𝒍𝒅 𝑭𝒓𝒂𝒏𝒄𝒊𝒔𝒄𝒐 𝑩𝒂𝒏𝒈𝒐𝒚 𝑰𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒏𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒂𝒍 𝑨𝒊𝒓𝒑𝒐𝒓𝒕: Designed by National Artist for Architecture, Leandro Locsin, a nostalgic look at the tropical, Malay-inspired gateway that once welcomed the world to Mindanao.
- 𝑨𝒍𝒅𝒆𝒗𝒊𝒏𝒄𝒐 𝑺𝒉𝒐𝒑𝒑𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑪𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒓: Honoring the vibrant, mid-century commercial hub that served as Davao's primary cultural exchange for generations.
- 𝑽𝒊𝒄𝒕𝒐𝒓𝒊𝒂 𝑷𝒍𝒂𝒛𝒂: A tribute to the city's first major modern mall and its enduring role as a social anchor.
- 𝑴𝒂𝒏𝒊𝒍𝒂 𝑩𝒖𝒍𝒍𝒆𝒕𝒊𝒏 𝑫𝒂𝒗𝒂𝒐 𝑩𝒓𝒂𝒏𝒄𝒉: Celebrating the sleek, mid-century lines of a landmark dedicated to the city's civic and media history.

Every ink stroke and model scale in this exhibit is a tribute to these "traces" of our city's strength. By studying these foundations, we prepare ourselves to build the next chapter of Filipino architecture. 📐✨

"Where the footprints of mentors meet the paths of the future."

UAPSA-UP Mindanao officially opened the doors last January 27-29 with our latest architectural showcase—𝐁𝐀𝐊𝐀𝐒: 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐭𝐡. 🥂✨

It was a momentous morning as we held our ceremonial ribbon-cutting, joined by our esteemed 𝐃𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐀𝐫𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐅𝐚𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐲 and our professional mentors from our mother chapter, 𝐔𝐀𝐏 𝐒𝐢𝐧𝐥𝐚𝐲𝐚𝐧 𝐃𝐚𝐛𝐚𝐰. Their presence turned this exhibit launch into a true bridge for mentorship, celebrating the shared traces of our architectural journey.

𝐁𝐀𝐊𝐀𝐒 is more than just a display; it is a testament to the grit, dedication, and strength of the UPMin Architecture student body. It honors the history we study and the future we are starting to build—one line at a time.
