The BuklodAtenista is an umbrella organization of all student councils from the five Ateneos in the country. Established in 1982, its main purpose was to provide a venue for sharing ideas on student concerns, and have a common plan and a common vision among different Ateneo universities. As stipulated in its constitution, the BuklodAtenista is grounded on several fundamental beliefs. First, that b
asic Ignatian values such as respect for humanity, dignity, freedom, justice, and service to our fellow men and women must at all times be upheld and propagated; that nationalism be inculcated in all Ateneans; that education is humanistic, spiritual, nationalistic, and oriented towards the common good and is unified in theory and practice that academic excellence, spiritual formation, and social awareness with a direct involvement thereto, be the primary concern of all its members; and finally, that students be catalysts of change. Its main concrete program is the annual BuklodAtenista Leaders Summit whose foremost objective is to enhance the leadership skills of the delegates through the exchange of ideas and strategies for effective meaningful service for the Ateneo community.
