Peace in the Midst of Trials

Life will bring challenges, uncertainty, and moments when we feel overwhelmed. But Jesus reminds us that although we will face trouble in this world, we can still have peace because He has already overcome the world.

God's grace does not always remove our struggles immediately, but it gives us the strength to endure them with faith and hope. Every difficult season can become an opportunity to experience His faithfulness, grow in spiritual maturity, and discover that His peace is greater than our circumstances.

When problems feel overwhelming, remember that your victory does not depend on your own strength. Christ has already won the victory. Hold on to His promises, continue trusting Him, and allow His grace to carry you through every difficult season.

As you begin this week, remember that no trial is greater than the Savior who walks beside you.

"I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world."
John 16:33 (NIV)

GBBC Journalists, participate in their first off-campus training
By Laureen Venicca Bacus

Student Journalists gathered in the Campus Journalism Academy at CBNHS to strengthen their skills.

The campus writers of General Baptist Bible College joined the Campus Journalism Academy Training to practice their writing skills and deepen their knowledge at Crossing Bayabas National High-school on Saturday, August 15, 2026.

The training included various journalistic activities designed to improve student’s skills in writing, reporting, photographing, and designing news pages. Student writers were given opportunities to practice their skills and learn techniques that could help them in preparation for the Division Schools Press Conference.

Students are trained from their respective speakers in designated categories to guide them in developing sets of appropriate skills in their respective categories.

Writers of GBBC achieved awards in the said training: Zia Anissa Cua L. Madelo grabbed the 6th place at Column Writing, English; While, Addiyannah Bless S. Sembrano also clenched the 10th place at Sci-Tech writing, English. The remaining journalists have been recognized for their active participation in the training.

At the end of the day, Andrew T. Hui, news writing speaker, reminded the students: “Don’t forget that even if hindi kayo na qualify sa top ten, that doesn’t mean na hindi kayo kasali sa DSPC” he emphasized.

The message encouraged student writers to continue improving and practicing despite not being a part of the top 10, reminding the journalists that their efforts and participation still matters.

After the event, the students went home with their groups, ending the day with determined hearts to improve their journalism skills.

Grace for the Waiting Season

Waiting can be one of life's greatest challenges. We pray, hope, and trust, yet sometimes the answers seem delayed. In those moments, God calls us not to lose heart but to remain strong, patient, and confident in His perfect timing.

Waiting on the Lord is never wasted. While we wait, He is strengthening our faith, shaping our character, and preparing us for what lies ahead. His plans are always greater than our own, and His grace is sufficient for every season.

As you begin this week, choose to trust God's timing over your own. Keep praying, keep serving, and keep believing that the Lord is working, even when you cannot yet see the outcome.

"Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord."
— Psalm 27:14 (NIV)
