SIRAWAN ES CONDUCTS OSAEC/CSAEM LAW ORIENTATION

Sirawan Elementary School successfully conducted a Symposium on OSAEC/CSAEM Law Orientation for Grades 4–6 learners with the theme “Protecting Children in the Digital World: Know the Law, Stop OSAEC/CSAEM.”

The activity strengthened learners’ awareness of online safety, OSAEC/CSAEM, anti-bullying, and child protection laws, encouraging them to recognize risks, protect themselves, and speak up when they encounter unsafe situations.

The school extends its heartfelt gratitude to School Principal Sir Randy W. Fernandez for his leadership and support; Kagawad Nestor Gilvez Jr., Committee on Education, and the Sirawan Barangay Council for their continued partnership in protecting children; and Ma’am Flordeliza Canete, School CPP Coordinator.

Special appreciation is also given to our resource speakers, Althea Paquibot, CSW and PMSG Imelda Lapis, Assistant Team Leader, DCPO RPSB Cluster 14, for sharing their valuable knowledge and expertise with our learners.

The symposium ended with a powerful reminder that every child can take an active role in protecting themselves in the digital world:
STOP. BLOCK. TELL.

STOP when something online makes you feel unsafe.
BLOCK the person or content that threatens your safety.
TELL a trusted adult and ask for help.

In view of this, BLENDED LEARNING MODALITY shall remain in effect until further notice. We kindly request everyone to await the school's official announcement regarding the return of in-person classes.

In anticipation of possible aftershocks and pending the completion of ongoing structural assessments, government offices in Davao City, including local government offices and national government agencies, shall adopt a work-from-home arrangement tomorrow, June 9, 2026, EXCEPT for offices providing safety and security, health, sanitation, traffic management, social services, and disaster and emergency response services.

The private sector is encouraged to adopt similar arrangements to ensure the welfare and safety of their employees.

Face-to-face classes at all levels in both public and private educational institutions shall remain suspended tomorrow, June 9, 2026, pending the completion of safety inspections.

Educational institutions are encouraged to adopt online or distance learning modalities to ensure the welfare and safety of their students and personnel.
