While watching “When Life Gives You Tangerines,” these lines hit really deep. It captures the quiet sacrifices of a father. When we woke up, the breakfast we asked for was already prepared and the hot water was ready for a bath. The money we asked for our allowance, project, and tuition fee was carefully folded in their worn-out wallet after years of hard use. And by the time we step on the front door, they were already long gone to start their workday.

We only saw the finished product. We sometimes forget to realize how they wake up so early, stand in the cold, and dim the kitchen at dawn. It makes us realize that a father’s love rarely speaks in grand speeches; it speaks in the hum of the water heater, the scent of the breakfast he prepared, and in working so early so we can sleep and dream a little longer.

Today, let us honor our fathers for all the love and sacrifices. To all the papa, tatay, daddy, mga tumayong ama, at nagpaka-ama out there, thank you so much and Happy Father’s Day po sa inyong lahat!

Just as in Civil Engineering, where we spend countless hours calculating loads, analyzing structural integrity, and ensuring that every foundation is deep enough to withstand the tests of time and gravity, our fathers have done the exact same for us.

Thank you for being our steady columns, our unshakeable beams, and our safest shelter. You have built a legacy of love, integrity, and strength that no force of nature can ever erode. We appreciate the silent sacrifices you make daily the "load-bearing" burdens you carry so that we can stand tall and reach for our own dreams. Happy Father’s Day to all our amazing dads, especially the fathers of our faculty of engineering and school community! Thank you for everything.

Following the recent earthquakes that struck Southern Mindanao, many families are now facing the difficult journey of recovery. Among those affected are the residents of Balut Island, who continue to struggle with the challenges brought by the disaster.

In line with this, the Junior Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers – Davao City Chapter (JPICE–DC), is launching a donation drive to extend support and relief to 𝐁𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐭 𝐈𝐬𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐝, Municipality of Sarangani, Davao Occidental.

Day 1 of the 𝐂𝐄𝐄 𝐀𝐥𝐮𝐦𝐧𝐢 𝐇𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 opened with warm smiles, familiar faces, and the long-awaited return of alumni to the place where many of their stories began. From registration and check-in to the opening program, welcome messages, sponsor presentations, alumni elections, and oath taking, the day became a meaningful mix of memories, updates, and new beginnings.

As alumni reconnected with old friends and witnessed how the College of Engineering Education continues to grow, the homecoming became more than just a gathering. It became a reminder of the years shared, the paths taken after graduation, and the bond that still brings everyone back together. Day 1 was filled with laughter, reflection, gratitude, and moments worth keeping as the celebration continues.

A return to the past, a celebration of the present, and a homecoming made for the people who made CEE part of who they are.
