Malabog National High School Holds Efficient Digital SSLG Election February 12, 2026 | 8:30 a.m. MALABOG, Davao City — Excitement and anticipation filled the campus of Malabog National High School as students gathered for the Supreme Secondary Learner Government (SSLG) Election Day on Thursday morning, February 12, 2026. At exactly 8:30 a.m., students began lining up per section outside the school’s computer laboratory, where this year’s voting was conducted through a digital system. The orderly lines reflected both the students’ eagerness to participate and the school’s commitment to a smooth electoral process. A total of 30 SSLG aspirants competed in this year’s election. The two major parties were headed by their respective presidential aspirants: Alfonso Castellano for the Galaw Party and Sher John Ellesor Lerin for the Royale Party. Both leaders spearheaded their teams in presenting platforms focused on student welfare, campus development, and inclusive leadership, energizing the student body in the days leading up to Election Day. Instead of the traditional paper-based ballots, voters cast their choices electronically using the computers inside the laboratory. Each section was called in an organized manner, ensuring that the voting process remained systematic and efficient. The use of digital voting not only minimized long waiting times but also allowed for faster consolidation of results. The election concluded ahead of schedule, demonstrating the effectiveness of the new system. Ms. Hazel Hermoso, SSLG Adviser, emphasized the advantages of the digital approach. “Through digital voting, we ensured faster consolidation and release of results while promoting fairness and equal opportunity for all candidates. The system also allowed us to manage the election in a more organized and systematic manner. By adopting this approach, Malabog National High School demonstrates its commitment to innovation, responsible use of technology, and environmentally friendly practices by reducing paper consumption.” Beyond the technology, the heart of the election remained focused on leadership and service. SSLG President Ms. Elaiza Jane Braga reminded students of the true essence of voting and leadership. “Leadership is not about popularity, it is about service. Also, in voting, it’s not just about picking familiar faces but it’s about choosing leaders who are ready to carry our concerns, organize programs that inspire us, and create opportunities that help us grow not only as students, but as future leaders of society.” The successful conduct of the 2026 SSLG elections marks another milestone for Malabog National High School. By integrating innovation with student participation, the school not only strengthened democratic values within the campus but also set a model for responsible and forward-thinking leadership. As digital ballots were tallied and results prepared for release, one thing was clear: the future of student leadership at Malabog National High School is in capable and forward-looking hands.

On February 13, 2026, Malabog National High School (MNHS) held its Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) Assembly at the Barangay Malabog Old Gymnasium at exactly 8:00 in the morning. Despite the brownout, parents, teachers, stakeholders, and student leaders gathered in unity and cooperation. The program continued smoothly because of everyone’s patience and support, while regular classes were simultaneously conducted by teachers to ensure that learning was not disrupted.
The highlight of the assembly was the State of the School Address (SOSA) delivered by School Principal Aleli C. Gebone.
“We have achieved so much together,” she shared. “Let us continue working hand in hand for the success of our learners.”
She presented the school’s accomplishments, ongoing programs, challenges, and future plans, emphasizing transparency and teamwork.
The newly hired teachers were also introduced and warmly welcomed to the MNHS family. Parents expressed their support as the new teachers were presented to the community.
Another meaningful part of the program was the Appreciation of Stakeholders, led by Adopt-a-School Coordinator Analyn Cordero.
“Your generosity and partnership make a big difference in our school,” she said, thanking all supporters for their continued assistance.
The PTA also recognized the Most Desirable Classroom. Winning classes received certificates and cash incentives.
“This recognition inspires us to maintain clean and organized classrooms,” one student shared happily.
Financial reports were presented by the PTA officers, the Supreme Secondary Learner Government (SSLG), and the School Journalism organization to ensure transparency and accountability.
The successful PTA Assembly once again showed that when the school and community work together, great things happen. Through unity and cooperation, MNHS continues to strive for quality education and holistic development for every learner.
