The Holy Cross of Davao College's College of Engineering and Technology proudly congratulates the team behind “𝗣𝗮𝗴𝗹𝗮𝗵𝘂𝘁𝗮𝘆” for securing 2ND RUNNER-UP during the CODEE RXI 16th Engineering Congress 2026 Inter-School Short Video Competition held at Lyceum of the Philippines University Davao last May 14-15, 2026.

Through emotionally compelling and socially grounded storytelling, the team successfully portrayed the realities of financial hardship, academic struggle, sacrifice, and perseverance experienced by many Filipino students pursuing education despite overwhelming challenges. More than a short film, “Paglahutay” became a meaningful reflection of resilience, hope, family, and purpose-driven innovation inspired by the lived experiences of local farming communities.

The College likewise commends Director, Producer, Screenplay Writer, and Editor 𝗭𝗲𝘁𝗵 𝗟𝗮𝘂𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗼; Asst. Director and Camera Op 𝗝𝗼𝗵𝗻 𝗫𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗲𝗿 𝗚𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘇; Production Manager and Coach 𝗔𝗹𝗴𝗲𝗺𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗼; Performers 𝗞𝗮𝗿𝗹𝗮 𝗙𝗲 𝗗𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗻, 𝗛𝗮𝗻𝘇 𝗦𝗮𝗽𝘂𝗹, 𝗚𝗹𝗲𝘇𝗮 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗲 𝗚𝗮𝗺𝘂𝘁𝗮𝗻, 𝗫𝘆𝗿𝗮 𝗝𝗮𝗻𝗲 𝗨𝘆𝗮𝗻𝗴𝘂𝗿𝗲𝗻, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗙𝗲𝗿𝗴𝘂𝘀 𝗔𝗹𝗲𝘅𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗔𝗺𝗶𝗴𝗼; Film Consultant 𝗝𝗼𝘀𝗵𝘂𝗮 𝗢𝘁𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗮𝘀; together with the entire production team for transforming a deeply human story into a cinematic work that resonated strongly with audiences and evaluators alike. The integration of the award-winning TOMATRIX Design Project further emphasized the importance of engineering innovations grounded in empathy, community relevance, and service to society.

Your achievement reflects the interdisciplinary creativity, technical excellence, and socially conscious innovation continuously fostered within the Holy Cross of Davao College's College of Engineering and Technology.

The project was developed by the Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering undergraduate researchers 𝗧𝘆𝗿𝗶𝘂𝘀 𝗧𝗼𝗿𝗲𝗷𝗼𝘀 𝗠𝗮𝗴𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗼, 𝗟𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗲 𝗝𝗼𝘆 𝗖𝗮𝘀𝗲𝘀 𝗕𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗹, and 𝗖𝗹𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘁 𝗗𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗝𝗮𝗽𝗮𝘆, in collaboration with partner graduate researcher and thesis adviser 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗿. 𝗗𝗲𝘅 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗼 𝗧𝗶𝘂 𝗚𝘂𝗶𝗯𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗼, 𝗕𝗦𝗰 𝗣𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗺, 𝗥𝗣𝗵, 𝗕𝗦𝗰 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗘.

Their synergistic effort reflects the interdisciplinary strength of deep biochemical pathway understanding, applied opto-electromagnetics, computational systems engineering, and agro-commercial technology innovation fostered within the College of Engineering and Technology.

TOMATRIX reflects the Crossian commitment to innovation-driven service and sustainable development, aligning engineering and technological advancement with community empowerment, food security, and the broader goals of responsible societal progress.

It is a project made with the LIFEBLOOD OF OUR NATION in mind.

Their achievement reflects exceptional technical competence, superior innovation, and research excellence, further showcasing the strong culture of engineering and technological advancement fostered within the College of Engineering and Technology.

CURB-E demonstrates how intelligent engineering systems can be utilized to improve traffic regulation, strengthen public safety, and support smarter urban mobility through AI-powered automated enforcement technologies.

Beyond its technical contribution, the project embodies the Crossian spirit of innovation with purpose, using engineering knowledge and creativity in service of community-centered and socially responsive solutions.

CURB-E was built to make a SAFER WORLD through intelligent innovation.
