The Sakya Red Cross Youth (SRCY), in collaboration with the YES-O Club, SCICOMATH Club, and the local barangay, carried out a meaningful tree-growing and coastal clean-up initiative in Barangay Lasang, Davao City.
The activity began with a brief orientation led by community representatives, setting the direction for proper mangrove planting and environmental care. Following these guidelines, participants planted mangrove seedlings throughout the designated coastal area, with each action aiding in the restoration of coastal ecosystems. The initiative continued with a coastal clean-up, where volunteers worked collectively to remove plastic waste and other debris along the shoreline. This initiative highlights the vital role of mangroves in protecting coastal communities from erosion, flooding, and the growing threats of climate change. By restoring these natural barriers, we are not only nurturing the environment but also safeguarding lives and securing a more resilient future for generations to come. ๐ฑ

In line with the continuing commitment of the Sakya Red Cross Youth (SRCY) to humanitarian service and community welfare, the club will conduct a Community Extension and Outreach Program for the elderly residents of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Missionaries of Charity Home for the Aged, located at Bangus St., Brgy. Wilfredo Aquino, Agdao, Davao City, on March 28, 2026. ๐โค๏ธ
This initiative seeks to extend compassion and support to elderly individuals who belong to one of the most vulnerable sectors of society. Many residents of homes for the aged face challenges such as limited family support, declining health, and social isolation. Through this outreach program, SRCY aims to address some of their immediate needs, feeding program, meaningful engagement activities, and the distribution of essential items intended to promote the comfort, well-being, and dignity of the elderly residents. Beyond material assistance, the program also aims to provide companionship and create moments of joy through simple interactions, conversations, and shared experiences with the beneficiaries. ๐ซถ๐ซ
In support of this initiative, we humbly invite individuals, organizations, and members of the Sakya community to contribute through donations in kind or financial assistance. The donation period is scheduled from March 10 to March 26, 2026, and your genuine donation may be placed in the designated box in the Academy's mess hall. Donations will help provide food for the feeding activity, basic necessities, and other items that can contribute to the comfort and well-being of the elderly residents. โค๏ธโ๐ฅ๐ฆ

Hard work truly pays off. In celebration of Fire Prevention Month this March, led by the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) together with various sectors and institutions, the Sakya Red Cross Youth (SRCY) proudly took part in the Reels Making and Poster Making Contest.
As the clubโs first time joining the competition, SRCY showcased their creativity and teamwork through original and meaningful entries that promote fire safety awareness, an essential effort in preventing fire-related incidents and casualties. In return for their hard work and active participation for the cause, the delegates from the club successfully secured 1st Runner-Up in both the Poster Making and Reels Making categories.

The halls of the Academy share vast familiarity with diverse unspoken narratives, giving birth to networks that foster kinship among its people. Yet within that familiarity lies the quiet, enduring dedication of women in patriarchal spaces where they are too often perceived as incapable, alienated, or cast aside. In such settings, the proof that women can is not merely spoken but lived, revealed in the moments they transform doubt into determination and limitations into leadership. ๐ฉ๐ปโ๐ซ๐
As we ๐๐ผ๐๐พ๐ this month to celebrate women both nationally and globally, the Sakya Red Cross Youth (SRCY) seeks to honor the diligent women within the club whose commitment continues to shape its purpose. Equity begins with recognizing that the only status quo that must extend to everyone is a world where women possess full autonomy over their decisions, their bodies, and the paths they choose to pursue. In a society that has long witnessed the consequences of patriarchal limitations, SRCY stands as a contrast to that constraint. Pioneered and led by a woman, the club has grown into a community where members are regarded as equals, cultivating a culture where collective decisions are guided by respect, and where no one stands above the principles of dignity regardless of age, gender, or distinction. Through this leadership, empowerment is not merely proclaimed but practiced, inspiring empowered women to empower more women. ๐๐ปโโ๏ธ๐ชป
The world must recognize that gender draws no boundary to leadership, even as history has often imposed limits on the roles women are allowed to occupy. They are responsibilities and strengths that belong to everyone. In the same spirit, service is not bound to any identity but extended to all, affirming that humanity is strongest when every voice is given the safe spaces to prosper and uplift others. ๐
The SRCY extends its warmest embrace to all women. Remember to take up space and take what you deserve, because just like Yllana Aduana once said: A friendly reminder that there is never too little space for women in the world. ๐๐ฉท

The Philippine Academy of Sakya Davao, Incorporated (PASDI) successfully concluded its weeklong Intramurals at the Frank N. Liu Sr. Memorial Hall on January 29โ30, 2026. The culminating events celebrated student excellence and school spirit through the Musical Competition, Little Mr. and Ms. PASDI, and the Mr. and Ms. PASDI pageant.
Throughout the culmination, the Sakya Red Cross Youth (SRCY) served as the official First Aid and Safety Team in coordination with the Supreme Student Government and event committees. Rotational teams were deployed from morning to evening to ensure continuous medical readiness. A total of eight minor cases were recorded on during the culmination, with additional minor cases involving students, alumni, and visitors promptly assessed and managed according to standard first aid protocols. All incidents were classified as minor, allowing the programs to proceed smoothly and conclude in an orderly manner.
This deployment marked the clubโs final major service engagement for the school year and the concluding duty of its graduating officers and elites, an attestation of collective commitment to service until the very end.
