We’re excited to bring the Stripe Community Builder journey to Davao and make it part of what we’ve been building with DDC.
From blockchain and Web3 to AI, the agentic economy, digital payments, and emerging technologies, our direction is simple: help more people understand these technologies and create opportunities to build with them.

Through workshops, meetups, hands-on sessions, and community-driven learning, we want to connect students, developers, builders, startup founders, and aspiring entrepreneurs with the knowledge, people, and opportunities that can help them move forward.
And we don’t want it to stop with education.

We want to discover local talent, connect builders, support ideas, and create pathways toward real products, startups, and solutions.
With Stripe becoming part of this journey, we’re excited to grow the builder community here in Davao and connect more people with opportunities beyond our local ecosystem.

𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊: 𝐉𝐚𝐯𝐚 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐏𝐞𝐞𝐫 𝐌𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 (𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝟐)

Earlier today, October 1, 2026, first-year IT students gathered at Computer Laboratory 1 for Part 2 of their Java Programming Peer Mentoring session.

Under the dedicated guidance of peer mentors 𝐁𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐭 𝐏𝐚𝐮𝐥 𝐒. 𝐒𝐚𝐦𝐬𝐨𝐧, 𝐀𝐧𝐝𝐲 𝐙𝐚𝐧𝐞 𝐁. 𝐄𝐠𝐮𝐭, and 𝐃𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐞𝐥 𝐂. 𝐆𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐦, the students delved deeper into hands-on coding, logic formulation, and debugging. This continuous peer-to-peer collaboration fosters a strong foundation and cultivates problem-solving confidence as our future developers advance in their programming journey!

GAME CLEAR! 🏆🎮

After two days of learning, building and competing, IT Fest 2026: 1UP! ended with its Awarding & Closing Ceremony on the evening of September 30 at AVR 1! 💙💛

✨ The night opened with welcome remarks, followed by the presentation of the pre-made and on-the-day entries, a look back at everything our students created and accomplished throughout the festival.

🥇 We celebrated our On-the-Day Competition Champions, the players who rose to the challenge in the competitions held during the festival.

📚 We recognized the students on the Dean's List, who kept leveling up in the classroom too.

🏅 We honored the winners of the Pre-Made Competitions and our category champions for their creativity and hard work.

🎁 The excitement continued with a raffle draw, before the night ended with closing remarks, a closing prayer and the ACD Hymn.

Congratulations to all our winners and awardees! 🎉 To every participant: whether or not you took home a prize, you pressed start, played your best, and leveled up. That's a win in our book! 🙌

The afternoon session of Day 2 was a speedrun into Web3! ⛓️⚡

Participants joined the"𝑩𝒍𝒐𝒄𝒌𝒄𝒉𝒂𝒊𝒏 𝑫𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒍𝒐𝒑𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝑾𝒐𝒓𝒌𝒔𝒉𝒐𝒑: 𝑺𝒑𝒆𝒆𝒅𝒓𝒖𝒏 𝑬𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒆𝒖𝒎"led by Sir 𝑺𝒊𝒓 𝑫𝒐𝒏𝒊 𝑱𝒂𝒍𝒅𝒐𝒏, a Web3 Security Researcher who specializes in architecture, infrastructure and smart contract audits, Blackthorn Founding Member, and 7x Audit Contest Winner (top 1% globally), with more than 10 years of software engineering experience.

Hands-on, step by step, participants explored the fundamentals of Ethereum development: how smart contracts are built, deployed, and interacted with in real-world blockchain applications. 💻

Assisting Sir Doni were 𝑺𝒊𝒓 𝑲𝒂𝒓𝒍 𝑨𝒏𝒕𝒉𝒐𝒏𝒚 𝑩𝒂𝒍𝒖𝒚𝒐𝒕, Founder and CEO of Nuvify Inc., Core Contributor of Ethereum Mindanao, and Community Tech Consultant of Davao DeFi Community, and 𝑺𝒊𝒓 𝑹𝒖𝒃𝒆𝒏 𝑷. 𝑳𝒂𝒄𝒖𝒎𝒃𝒂 𝑱𝒓., Web3 community builder and Core Contributor at Ethereum Philippines. Both guided participants through every step of the build. 🙌

On September 30, every corner of ACD turned into a battleground. Teams brought their skills, speed, strategy and a whole lot of heart! 💙💛

📊 Capstone Presentation:our capstone teams defended the projects they've worked so hard on.
🤖 AI Build-Off: teams built creative, working solutions with AI.
🏃 IT Relay: teams raced for the win, with everyone giving it their all.
🗺️ Amazing Race: teams took on challenges across the Gym and campus grounds.
🧠 College IT Quiz Bowl: sharp minds faced off question after question.
🎨 UI/UX Design & Infographics: clickable prototypes came to life in Figma.
☕ Java Programming: coders solved problems one line at a time.
⌨️ Speed Typing: fast fingers, and accurate too!
🔐 Cybersecurity: teams defended, attacked and secured systems.
🎮 Mobile Legends: squads fought it out in the Land of Dawn.

To every participant: win or lose, you already leveled up just by stepping up. 🙌 A big thank you to our facilitators, committees, judges and supporters who made every game possible!

September 29 got IT Festival 2026 off to a strong start at Assumption College of Davao! 💙💛

🖼️ Our capstone teams opened the day with the Capstone Project Showcase, and their projects filled the Auditorium all morning.

🧠 Senior High School students took on the SHS IT Quiz Bowl, with Quiz Master Alexandra E. Mendoza asking the questions!

🎤 Mr. Dennis Gajo, MIT showed us what it really takes to build a career in IT in his talk, "Beyond the Classroom: What It Takes to Build a Career in IT."

⛓️ Mr. Ruben P. Lacumba Jr. of the Davao DeFi Community
walked us through Blockchain Fundamentals and the technology behind Web3.

💻 In the afternoon, students got hands-on in our Breakout Sessions on Multimedia, API Integration and Cybersecurity!
