Math Station

Our students demonstrated how we use Mortensen Bars in the Concrete Stage of the CRA Method (Concrete–Representational–Abstract) — our approach in teaching addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

This hands-on, visual approach is a critical element of Orton–Gillingham Math, where learning begins with concrete, multisensory experiences before moving to representations and abstract symbols. Children touch, build, compare, and explore so that math concepts become truly meaningful.

At CBB, we make sure that children understand the why behind every operation — not just the procedure.

Hands-on. Visual. Purposeful.
Growing deep number sense and confident problem-solvers every day.

United Nations Day 2025
With Drum Up: Uniting People Through Rhythm

Drum Up is a community-based percussion group that brings people together through rhythm. At the heart of their work are drum circles—inclusive, non-competitive gatherings where kids, parents, and even grandparents can sit in a circle and make music together.

Benefits of Drum Circles
For Kids: Drumming helps improve focus, coordination, listening skills, and self-expression in a fun and active way.

For Families: Playing together strengthens bonds, encourages teamwork, reduces stress, and creates joyful shared experiences.

The Main Instrument: Djembe
The djembe is a hand drum from West Africa known for its wide range of sounds—from deep bass to sharp tones. It’s easy to learn, making it perfect for beginners and kids, while still offering depth for more advanced players.

Other Instruments in the Exhibit
Aside from the djembe, we also showcased diverse instruments such as the Sarunay, Kulintang, Handpan, Bamboo Flutes, Shakers, Chimes, Rainmaker, Thunder Drum, Budyong, Kubing, and Hegalong, which gave our learners a chance to experience the beauty of traditional and contemporary world instruments.
