On November 6, 2024, the PWC-Brilliant Information Technology Society took a deep dive into the World of Git & GitHub in collaboration with the UMSDC - University of Mindanao Student Developer Community. This dynamic workshop introduced participants to the powerful world of version control and collaboration, skills that are essential in the tech industry today.
The event was headlined by Mario Inguito – CTO of the University of Mindanao Student Developer Community, UM-CCE Lead Mentor, Full Stack Developer, and Certified Java IT Specialist. With his rich experience, including competing as a Hack4Gov National Qualifier 2024, Mario brought firsthand insights to the session. Under his guidance, participants explored essential concepts in Git, including version tracking, branching, merging, and handling collaborative projects on GitHub.
This interactive session aimed to equip PWC students with the skills to streamline teamwork, manage codebase histories, and harness GitHub’s features for real-world applications. By the end of the workshop, students walked away with practical skills and a greater understanding of how Git and GitHub streamline project management, boost productivity, and foster collaboration.
This workshop exemplifies the power of industry partnerships in enhancing tech education, and both PWC and UMSDC look forward to many more successful collaborations!
