"𝐁𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐏𝐮𝐦𝐩 𝐌𝐮𝐬𝐜𝐥𝐞𝐬" these are the muscles of respiration that form a complex arrangements around the lungs.

The Diaphragm is a part of the primary inspiratory muscles. It is a double-domed musculotendinous sheet of internal skeletal muscle located in the inferior-most aspect of the rib cage. It functions as a separator for the thoracic cavity from the abdominal cavity and it undergoes contraction and relaxation, altering the volume of the thoracic cavity and the lungs, and producing inspiration and expiration.

Each of your lungs contains about 300 million balloon-like structures called the 'alveoli' that serves as a unit where physiologic wastes, such as carbon dioxide, be exchanged with oxygen. You see, oxygen is necessary for all functions of your body and surprisingly, most people can get by with only one lung instead of two, as long as their body is in good capacity.

A 𝐩𝐧𝐞𝐮𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐦𝐲 is a type of surgery that involves removing one of your lungs because of a serious condition, like lung cancer, fungal infections, or trauma.
