Standing tall as the new academic year begins, our ROTC Advance Officers had the honor of raising the colors for the very first Flag Ceremony of SY 2026-2027 on 𝐀𝐮𝐠𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝟒, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔.

In line with strengthening coordination and cooperation, the Lyceum of the Philippines – Davao ROTC Unit conducted a Courtesy Call on July 2, 2026, at the LPU Davao EO Board Room together with LTC NORWIN DG LICOTO PAF (GSC), 2LT JOSEPH RYAN P MAYOR PAF, AM FRANCO BRYAN SANDIGAN PAF, and AW JULYANNA ISABEL T OSOL PAF.

The activity was also attended by DR. JAYSON M BARLAN, Chief Operations Officer and Vice President for Institutional Affairs; DR. KENNY JAMES P MERIN, Vice President for Academic Affairs; DEAN EMMA RUTH MEJORADO, Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences; MS. AIRA MARIE G TAN, NSTP Coordinator; C/MAJ FIONA ANGELIQUE ABUCEJO 2CL,C/MAJ YRINE XARIS VENTURA 2CL, and C/MAJ ACER RAMILLETE 2CL.

The meeting served to strengthen coordination, foster collaboration, and discuss plans for the upcoming academic year. In response to the recent 7.8 magnitude earthquake that affected several communities across Mindanao, the Lycean Community and the LPU Davao ROTC Unit are launching a donation drive to provide immediate assistance to those in need.

We are accepting both monetary and in-kind donations to help support affected families and individuals.

Needed Donations:
• Non-perishable food items
• Bottled water
• Hygiene kits and personal care essentials
• Clothing and blankets
• School supplies
• Other emergency necessities

From 1946 to 1962, the Philippines observed Independence Day every July 4. However, former President Diosdado Macapagal moved its commemoration to June 12, recognizing the declaration of independence led by Emilio Aguinaldo in 1898 as the nation's true Independence Day.

Today, we proudly commemorate the 128th Anniversary of Philippine Independence, honoring the courage, sacrifices, and unwavering patriotism of the heroes who fought for our freedom. Their determination paved the way for the rights, dignity, and opportunities that Filipinos enjoy today.

As we celebrate this historic occasion, may we remember that independence is more than a milestone of the past—it is a continuing responsibility entrusted to every generation. Let it inspire us to uphold unity, demonstrate compassion, and strengthen our commitment to building a better future for our nation.

𝗟𝗣𝗨 𝗗𝗮𝘃𝗮𝗼 𝗗𝗼𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗗𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲

Following the recent earthquake that impacted several communities in Mindanao, LPU Davao is extending support and encouraging collective action for affected communities.

We are currently accepting monetary donations, relief goods, and gently used clothing to help meet urgent needs on the ground. Contributions may include:

• Food packs (canned goods, ready-to-eat meals, and other non-perishable items)
• Bottled or clean drinking water
• Hygiene kits and personal care items (soap, alcohol, tissues, wipes, sanitary essentials)
• Clean clothes, blankets, and other basic necessities

Monetary donations may be sent through the official LPU Davao account indicated in this post, while physical donations may be brought directly to the Research and Extension Office (JPL 207) located at LPU Davao.

Your support, no matter the amount, can provide relief, comfort, and hope to those affected.
