Our Nihongojins received heartfelt messages from our friends at 𝐒𝐡𝐢𝐦𝐢𝐳𝐮 𝐉𝐇𝐒 in 𝐒𝐡𝐢𝐳𝐨𝐮𝐤𝐚, 𝐉𝐚𝐩𝐚𝐧, wishing for our safety and well-being. Their thoughtful words filled our hearts with gratitude and reminded us of the kindness that connects us across borders.

𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 couldn’t stop their kindness from reaching us. Every message reminded us that friendship knows no borders.

Sean Rhaine M. Amores was recently selected to represent the Philippines in a prestigious youth exchange program under Japan Foundation in Osaka, Japan, alongside outstanding representatives from various Southeast Asian countries. Through this once-in-a-lifetime experience, he gained valuable knowledge, cultural insights, and meaningful friendships that broadened his global perspective.

Now, Sean returns home with a mission—to share his journey and inspire the next generation of Nihongojins. Through a series of learning-sharing sessions with Grade 7 to Grade 10 SPFL-Japanese learners, he recounted his experiences and highlighted key lessons about Japanese culture, education, and international exchange. His stories encouraged the Nihongojins to continue studying the Japanese language, embrace cultural understanding, and confidently pursue future opportunities in Japan and beyond.

As the Japanese adage says, 「一期一会（いちごいちえ）」—treasure every encounter, for it may happen only once in a lifetime. Sean's journey reminds us that every dream begins with a single step (一歩ずつ), and that learning never ends (学びは終わらない). May his story inspire every Nihongojin to keep believing in their dreams, work hard, and live by the spirit of がんばって—always giving their best. Someday, it may be their turn to say, 「夢はかなう。」 (Dreams do come true.)

✈️ 𝑺𝒂𝒇𝒆 𝑻𝒓𝒂𝒗𝒆𝒍𝒔, 𝑺𝒆𝒂𝒏! 🇯🇵

Today marks the beginning of another remarkable journey as Sean Rhaine M. Amores officially departs for Osaka, Japan, to participate in the Japanese-Language Program for Counterpart Japanese Learners of the NIHONGO Partners (High School Students) from June 30 to July 15, 2026.

After an online interview conducted by The Japan Foundation Manila in both English and Nihongo, Sean was selected as one of only two students nationwide to represent the Philippines in this prestigious program. This achievement reflects his dedication, perseverance, and passion for the Japanese language and culture.

As he embarks on this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, may this journey be filled with meaningful learning, cultural exchange, new friendships, and unforgettable experiences.

May you have a safe flight and a successful journey. We look forward to hearing your stories and celebrating your experiences when you return home.

Konnichiwa, Minasan!

Today, seven of our Nihongojins, along with Carlo Sensei and Ef Sensei, participated in the “Introduction to the World of Bonsai: Beginner-Friendly Workshop.” It was offered to us by the Consulate General of Japan in Davao, featuring Mr. Hirao Misashi (an internationally recognized master redefining tradition into innovation).

It was a great opportunity for our Nihongojins to immerse themselves in Japanese culture by learning about Bonsai and how to plant/care for them.

Everyone showed how well they could groom, plant, and wire their bonsai. You all did well, just by showing up or not being afraid to get your hands dirty.

とても楽しかったワークショップですね！お疲れ様でした、皆さん！🩵
