The spirit of research, innovation, and collaboration continues as the 4th Lycean Multidisciplinary Research Congress unfolds on May 29, 2026, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM at the Freedom Hall.

Anchored on the theme, “Inspiring Change for Sustainable Futures Through Research and Innovation,” this annual academic gathering strengthens the culture of research excellence by providing a platform for scholars, educators, researchers, and students to present studies that contribute to the attainment of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Quality Education (SDG 4), Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure (SDG 9), Reduced Inequalities (SDG 10), and Partnerships for the Goals (SDG 17).

The congress will be graced by Dr. Porferia S. Poralan as the plenary resource speaker, who will share valuable insights on the role of research in driving meaningful societal change and sustainable development.

Distinguished panel experts and reactors from various disciplines will also provide scholarly insights, constructive feedback, and engaging discussions that further enrich the research experience of all participants.

Highlighting the event was Dr. Rex A. Lim, whose session on emerging trends in scholarly research and publication offered critical insights into the evolving academic landscape. He also shared practical guidance on writing essentials, from conceptualizing research proposals to navigating the publication process, equipping faculty with strategies for producing high-quality scholarly work.

Anchored on SDG 4: Quality Education and SDG 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure, and reinforced through SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, ASCEND 2026 exemplified LPU Davao’s commitment to cultivating a robust and collaborative research culture. The activity not only enhanced individual research capabilities but also strengthened the institution’s collective capacity for knowledge generation, dissemination, and meaningful academic contribution.
