🇵🇭 HISTORY IN THE MAKING: Meet Team Philippines to the 2026 International Olympiad in Artificial Intelligence (IOAI)! 🇵🇭

The Philippines is officially making its historic debut at the IOAI 2026!

Out of numerous brilliant minds nationwide, these four exceptional students survived a rigorous, multi-phase selection process to earn their coveted spots on the inaugural national team:
• Ellison Matthew S. Ang (Philippine Science High School - Main Campus)
• Theo Lorenzo T. Bustamante (Philippine Science High School - Calabarzon Region Campus)
• Juan Mateo J. Desuasido (Brent International School Manila)
• Jhareign S. Solidum (University of Mindanao Ilang High School)

📅 Timeline of the Competition
While the main onsite competition takes place from August 2–8, 2026, in Astana, Kazakhstan, the grind begins much earlier.
• July 1, 2026: The competition officially kicks off with the crucial At-Home Round and intensive team-building sessions.
• August 2–8, 2026: The team flies to Astana to compete face-to-face against the best AI minds in the world.

🙏 Deepest Gratitude to Our Global and Local Supporters
This historic debut would not be possible without the incredible generosity of the IOAI Board and Committee. Team Philippines has been granted full financial aid by the IOAI, completely covering:
• Round-trip airfare to and from Astana, Kazakhstan
• Full board, lodging, and meals
• Official registration fees

We extend our heartfelt appreciation to our Team PH partners: Joy-Nostalg, Times Paint Corporation, and the Tiu family, as well as community partners including the Analytics & Artificial Intelligence Association of the Philippines, whose vital local backing strengthens our mission.

We also gratefully acknowledge the invaluable support of the Department of Education (DepEd) and the Department of Science and Technology - Science Education Institute (DOST-SEI) in nurturing and empowering our young pool of talents.

Finally, we thank the global sponsors of the IOAI 2026 — including IMC Trading, Jane Street, Google, Huawei, and Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence — for providing access to this world-class platform.

Because of this collective support, our country's top young AI talent can focus entirely on bringing home the gold. Join us in wishing Elli, Theo, Mateo, and Jhareign the best of luck as they represent the flag. Let's show the world what Filipino intelligence can do! 🚀🤖

The IOAI is held under the patronage of UNESCO, and is hosted by the Kazakhstan Competitive Programming Federation.

IOAI PH is hosted by the Ateneo Business Insights Laboratory for Development - BUILD of the John Gokongwei School of Management, Ateneo de Manila University
