We are incredibly proud to announce that 𝐃𝐫. 𝐀𝐝𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐨 𝐌. 𝐀𝐲𝐚-𝐚𝐲, Dean of the Mapúa MCM College of Health Sciences, recently represented the institution at the International Conference on Frontiers of Environment and Energy (ICFEE 2026) in Fukuoka, Japan. Dr. Aya-ay presented two critical environmental studies focusing on carbon sequestration in Bunawan and heavy metal contamination across Davao City and Samal Island, research that provides a vital foundation for better water resource management and ecological health in our region.

Seeing our leadership bridge the gap between environmental science and public health on a global platform is a huge win for the CHS community. Huge congratulations, Dean! We’re coming back to campus inspired to keep pushing the boundaries of what health sciences can achieve.

𝐍𝐄𝐖𝐒 | SSC holds forum on institutional updates; Mapúa MCM admin addresses student concerns

Mapúa MCM Supreme Student Council (SSC) gathered all student leaders across all organizations, along with the institution’s administration and staff, at RG Birrey Construction and Development Corporation Building, on March 30, 2026 to convene on the post-earthquake institutional progress updates, addressing all student concerns and plans going forward.

The forum was organized after the SSC’s Letter of Appeal (LoA) did not receive immediate acknowledgment and action from the administration. According to SSC President Althea Teodoro, the LoA contained consolidated student concerns that were not received, which prompted the student leaders to seek direct clarification on these matters through this meeting.

In his opening remarks, Engr. Alejandro H. Ballado, Jr., the EVP-COO and Vice President of Academic Affairs expressed his appreciation for the student leaders, stating that they are the people in-between that represent the voice of the students. “We get to have the meeting of the minds to clear things and resolve, to address everything—to hear out, understand, and address the issues. By the end of the dialogue, we get to solicit your ideas on how we can further improve our academics and [our] operations.” He also emphasized that they remain committed to providing enhanced learning spaces and academic services.

As of March 31, 2026, the Mapúa MCM admin released an internal letter addressed to its students, reassuring that “concerns are being taken up seriously and will be addressed in due time.” Immediate resolutions regarding academic concerns, responsiveness in communication channels, re-sending of corrected SoAs for 2nd Term and other fees are currently implemented. Other student concerns will be thoroughly reviewed as the 3rd Term progresses.

The CHS Medical Mission at Barangay Daliao Gymnasium, Toril is officially a wrap! We traded the lecture halls for the field, providing free medical consultations and health screenings to a community that welcomed us with open arms.

A massive shoutout to our partners, 𝐂𝐑𝐈𝐀𝐃𝐎𝐒 and the 𝐀𝐏𝐌𝐂-𝐒𝐍 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐏𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐜 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐞, for helping us ensure this project was both high-quality and sustainable. Seeing the smiles from the residents of Daliao reminded us exactly why we’re in this field. It's not just about the credits, it’s about showing up where it matters most.

Re: Formal Letter of Resignation from the Biology Academic Excellence Coordinator

Following the absence of leave filed during the second term of the 2025-2026 school year, former Biology Academic Excellence Coordinator 𝐆𝐰𝐞𝐲𝐧𝐞𝐭𝐡 𝐂𝐚𝐲𝐞 𝐂. 𝐍𝐚𝐩𝐨𝐥𝐞𝐬 has formally submitted her resignation letter. Ms. Napoles has decided to prioritize her academic duties along with her Internship (OJT) and graduation requirements.

In line with this change, 𝐌𝐬. 𝐒𝐚𝐬𝐡𝐚 𝐃𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐨 𝐀𝐥𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐫𝐚𝐬 shall take over as the Biology Academic Excellence Coordinator moving forward.

The CHS-SG is grateful for Ms. Napoles’ contributions in ensuring the standards of the council. From here on out, we are confident in Ms. Almendras’ capabilities in forging a successful year with the student government.

With these changes, we aim to serve the CHS Community with utmost excellence and relevance.
