As part of the school's commitment to helping learners begin the academic year with confidence and awareness, a General Orientation was conducted on the second day of classes.

During the orientation, learners were introduced to the various offices, programs, and student services that play an important role in supporting their academic journey and overall well-being. Representatives from the Prefect of Discipline, School Library, School Clinic, Search and Growth Center, Support Services and Physical Plant, Safety and Security Office, Data Privacy Office, and the Student Activity Coordinator's Office presented their respective functions, services, policies, and procedures.

Through this orientation, students gained a better understanding of the support systems available to them and became more familiar with the people and offices they can approach whenever they need assistance throughout the school year.

๐Ÿ“ Faculty Members Strengthen Teaching Competence Through Learning Session

On June 5, 2026, the Elementary and Junior High School faculty members of Assumption College of Davao gathered at the AVR 2 for the successful conduct of the Learning Session for All Teachers.

The program commenced with the preliminaries, which included an opening prayer led by the Christian Living Education (CLVEd) Area, a lively Kamustahanay, and an energizing Zumba dance facilitated by the Technology and Livelihood Education (TLE), Robotics, and Music, Arts, Physical Education, and Health (MAPEH) Areas.

The first learning session focused on โ€œPedagogical Framework: Aligning Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment Towards Success,โ€ presented by Ms. Julie Gel P. Senabre. The discussion emphasized the importance of ensuring that learning objectives, teaching strategies, and assessment methods work together to promote meaningful learning outcomes.

After a short break, the teachers proceeded to a session on learning plan making using the Explore, Firm up, Deepen, Transfer (EFDT) framework, conducted by Ms. Marilou C. Bustamante. Participants, especially the newly hired personnel, gained valuable insights into effective lesson planning and instructional design.

The morning also featured a presentation by Ms. Estela G. Baรฑagale, where she discussed and explained the roles and responsibilities of the class advisers and subject teachers. Her presentation provided practical reminders and clarified guidelines that will help teachers perform their duties more efficiently and foster a more organized and supportive learning environment. The morning concluded with the presentation by the Prefects of Discipline, Mr. Ruel S. Larutin and Ms. Maricho B. Jamandre. They explained the different types of warning slips, their corresponding meanings, and the proper process for referring a student to the Prefect of Discipline (POD) office.

Following the lunch break, the learning sessions resumed with โ€œThe Art of Questioningโ€ facilitated by Ms. April Rose I. Aรฑora. Teachers explored various questioning techniques that encourage critical thinking, active participation, and deeper understanding among learners.

The afternoon continued with โ€œTeaching Strategiesโ€ presented by Ms. Juvemin P. Tadura, where participants learned innovative and effective instructional approaches that can be applied across different learning areas and grade levels.

This was followed by the presentation by Ms. Novilla R. Canalita, the Elementary and Junior High School principal, who discussed the 3 academic terms, the new grading system, and awards and recognition. She was also able to address the inquiries of the teachers regarding the new education system.

The program concluded with an Open Forum, allowing teachers to share insights, raise concerns, and reflect on the lessons learned throughout the day. The event ended on a high note with a raffle draw, followed by the awarding of certificates and tokens of appreciation to the resource speakers by the school principal, Novilla R. Canalita.

Serving as Masters of Ceremony were Lovely I. Cenabre and Judy Ann D. Salva, who guided the participants through the dayโ€™s activities with enthusiasm and professionalism.

The Learning Session for All Teachers proved to be a meaningful and enriching experience that strengthened professional competence, encouraged collaboration, and reinforced the commitment of Assumption College of Davao educators to providing quality, transformative, and learner-centered education.
