LAAK, DAVAO DE ORO โ In line with its continuing commitment to strengthen school safety and emergency preparedness, personnel of Laak Municipal Police Station, led by PMAJ EMELITO M LLEGO, Chief of Police, in coordination with the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) under the supervision of Samuel C. Lacierda III, MDRRM Officer, conducted a Simulation Exercise (SIMEX) at Davao de Oro State College (DDOSC)โLaak Extension on August 19, 2026.
The activity was conducted to enhance the coordination, readiness, and response capabilities of participating agencies and stakeholders in addressing possible emergency situations within school premises.
The SIMEX also forms part of the proactive measures undertaken by Laak MPS in response to recent school-related security concerns, particularly the shooting incident that transpired at Ateneo de Zamboanga University, where students and school personnel were among those affected.
Through the exercise, participating personnel were given an opportunity to assess their preparedness, strengthen inter-agency coordination, and identify areas for improvement in emergency response and crisis management.
Laak MPS continues to work closely with schools, the LGU, and other stakeholders in ensuring a safe, secure, and resilient learning environment for students, faculty, and school personnel.
