Gone were the usual tables and chairs — replaced by cozy couches, soft lighting, and storytellers gathered like friends in a living room. Pajamas, laughter, and unexpected tales filled the air as everyone shared stories that thrilled, amused, and inspired.

We had everything ready for our Toastmasters meeting on October 10: the speeches, the energy, the excitement.
Then came the 7.6 magnitude earthquake.
Plans changed. The ground literally shifted beneath us.
But like true Toastmasters, we paused, adapted, and came back stronger.

Last Friday, October 17, our Toastmasters family finally gathered for a meeting themed “Closing Deals.”
The room was buzzing with energy, as 12 members joined us face-to-face and 2 online. The attendance we had was a wonderful reminder of how our shared commitment to growth brings us together, no matter what.

Highlights of the day:
✨ Two inspiring formal speakers took the stage.
✨ Our newest member, Faye Banquil-Al-ag, delivered her Icebreaker speech, a defining Toastmasters milestone where a speaker takes the first bold step toward confident communication.
✨ Another new member, Balading, was inducted, proof that growth is a deal we keep closing, meeting after meeting.
✨ Our program stayed rich and full, with laughter shared among two young guests who joined us.

Every speech reminded us that the best deals aren’t made on paper. They’re sealed with the same thing that started it all: confidence.

SEPTEMBER SPARKS AT DAVAO NOONTIME TOASTMASTERS CLUB

This month, our club was on fire with growth and achievements, and we grew stronger together.

We welcomed Ms. Cherry Faye Al-ag into our family, a reminder that every new member means new stories, new perspectives, and new opportunities to grow together.

We also have three future Toastmasters in the making. They’ve been showing up, listening, learning, and soon, we’re confident they’ll be speaking alongside us. To our three consistent observers: the stage is waiting for you!

Two of our members also reached a big milestone: Bai Ingrid Sinsuat and Cheska Francine Jimenez successfully completed Level 3 in their Pathways. Their progress inspires us all to keep pushing, keep speaking, and keep leading.

These milestones remind us that in Toastmasters, progress is not just possible. It becomes inevitable once you commit.

As we close September, we celebrate not only these wins, but also the culture of encouragement, learning, and leadership that defines our club.

August has been a month of energy, growth, and fellowship for our club!

Club Officers Installation – We officially welcomed our new set of officers who will lead us into another year of learning and excellence.

First Meeting of the Month – A full program with 2 inspiring formal speakers, a lighthearted interlude, and our regular educational segments: Word of the Day, Table Topics, and Evaluations. Truly a showcase of how Toastmasters nurtures confident communicators.

Second Meeting of the Month – Even without prepared speakers, members showed up with great enthusiasm! Attendance was strong, proving that our club spirit remains high and unstoppable. 💪

We now meet at Royal Mandaya Hotel --- a central, accessible, and professional space that sets the perfect atmosphere for communication and leadership growth --- every 2nd and 4th Friday of the month.
