It's Alexander Graham Bell day ☎️📞

One of the cafes here in Davao has this handheld mobile phone on display. It is now obsolete, but when it was introduced to the world in the early 1980s, people nicknamed it the brick phone.

Last August's Book Festival the kids had the chance to see a replica of Dr. Jose Rizal's Noli Me Tangere and El Filibusterismo. It was very interesting for the kids to see and flip through the pages of 2 powerful books that made significant contributions in our history. Today is Rizal's Day and it is another chance for us to learn about the life of one of the greatest Filipinos to date.

This space provided by one of the malls here in Davao (El Espacio - NCCC) - is a great idea for homeschoolers like us who love to go out of the house from time to time and still do some homework/activity in a different environment. It's free, clean, safe - and I could do my groceries or other errands while the kids are busy studying. 😊❤️

Today is Andres Bonifacio day and the kids watched a full movie, "Bonifacio: Ang Unang Pangulo" with Sen. Robin Padilla as Bonifacio, on Youtube. We also read about his life until his death at the age of ONLY 33. A life he devoted to his country and yet he was charged with TREASON and SEDITION🤯

Andres Bonifacio, we've learned, although not as educated as Dr. Jose Rizal and other well-known Filipino heroes - was a self-learner and a voracious reader. He read Rizal's works, some novels like Les Miserables, and other books including the Bible.

PICKLEBALL at the mall - Pickleball is a sport that combines elements of tennis, ping pong, and badminton - 3-in-1! It can be played singles or doubles on a court that looks like a small tennis court. To enjoy this sport, players need paddles and a plastic ball.
