Introduction
Every day, new incidents such as data breaches, threats, risks, etc. are reported, and almost every time these incidents are due to human errors and a lack of digital security awareness. Many analysts claim that the human component of any digital security framework is the weakest link. Information is one of the resources that an organization is heavily dependent on. If critical information about an organization is leaked, the organization can suffer serious consequences, e.g., loss of income, loss of customers' trust, maybe legal action, etc. Therefore, information should be protected and secured.
According to the information security forum, information security awareness can be defined as the extent to which every member of staff understands the importance of digital security, the levels of digital security appropriate to the organization, their individual security responsibilities, and acts accordingly. Digital security awareness has been defined in different ways; however, this definition establishes a relationship between behavior and awareness. Therefore, a user is considered aware of digital security if he or she behaves accordingly. Incidents of information loss can occur due to the less conscious digital security behavior of end-users. The digital security behavior of end-users or employees is changed by raising the level of digital security awareness and educating all employees in the basics of digital security. To achieve this, digital security awareness campaigns are initiated, such as digital security awareness presentations, computer-based training, digital security awareness posters, email messaging, etc. However, not all campaigns are good enough to raise the awareness level of employees due to their lower effectiveness in changing the digital security behaviors of the targeted audience.
VI. Rationale : This awareness campaign can help reduce cybercrime and enhance security standards by educating people about the need for strong passwords, two-factor authentication, and regular updates. It can also encourage organizations and individuals to set up contingency plans for data breaches and equip their staff with the necessary skills and knowledge.
VII. Objectives :
The following are the objectives
A. Increase awareness of digital security risks: The primary objective of a digital security risk awareness campaign is to educate individuals and businesses about the potential dangers of cyberspace. The campaign should aim to raise awareness of various threats, such as malware, phishing, identity theft, and hacking attacks, and the consequences of falling victim to them.
B. Encourage better security practices: The second objective of a digital security risk awareness campaign should be to encourage people to adopt better security practices. This includes using strong passwords, keeping operating systems and software up-to-date, avoiding public Wi-Fi networks, and backing up important files regularly. The campaign should motivate individuals and businesses to take proactive steps to protect their sensitive data from unauthorized access.
C. Promote a culture of security: The third objective of a digital security risk awareness campaign should be to foster a culture of security, where everyone takes ownership of their digital footprint. This involves creating a sense of responsibility and accountability and making cybersecurity a priority at all levels. The campaign should encourage people to report any suspicious activity, take necessary precautions, and stay vigilant against emerging threats. Ultimately, the goal is to make digital security a habit, not an afterthought.
VIII. Strategy/Methodology : The digital security risk awareness aims to educate and engage the target audience on the potential risks and actions they can take to prevent security breaches using a multi-faceted approach that is tailored to the audience and consistently evaluated and updated. The digital security risk awareness involves identifying critical risks, defining objectives, creating clear messaging, delivering through the appropriate channels, monitoring and adjusting for effectiveness using engagement and performance metrics, and conducting follow-up interventions to ensure continuous improvement and learning.

X. Expected outcomes : Security awareness training helps protect students and teachers, but it can also include individuals, businesses, governments, and organizations' data, systems, and networks from malicious attacks and cyber threats. It helps employees or individuals understand the importance of cybersecurity and teaches them how to identify potential threats and respond appropriately.
