The 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐆𝐞𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 (𝐀𝐆𝐞𝐨𝐒) proudly celebrates the remarkable achievement of the 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧 𝐏𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬 (𝐔𝐒𝐞𝐏) in the 𝐍𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓 𝐆𝐞𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐬 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐮𝐭𝐞𝐫-𝐁𝐚𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐋𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐄𝐱𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 (𝐆𝐋𝐄).

USeP records an outstanding 𝟗𝟎.𝟒𝟖% 𝐩𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐚𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭-𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐫𝐬, alongside a strong 𝟔𝟗.𝟕𝟎% 𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐩𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞, reflecting the resilience, discipline, and determination of every AGeoS who faced the journey head-on.

[𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊] 𝘿𝙞𝙜𝙜𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝘿𝙚𝙚𝙥𝙚𝙧, 𝙊𝙣𝙚 𝙑𝙤𝙡𝙩 𝙖𝙩 𝙖 𝙏𝙞𝙢𝙚!

The Geology students of USeP began their 𝐆𝐞𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐣𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐲 last 𝐒𝐞𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟏𝟏, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓, with an insightful discussion led by 𝐆𝐞𝐨𝐥. 𝐀𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐚 𝐁. 𝐒𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐚 from the National Irrigation Administration (NIA). She shared her expertise on how electrical currents travel through the ground and how these signals reveal what lies beneath the surface. What once seemed abstract in class became clearer as students connected theory with real-world application.

The following day, 𝐒𝐞𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟏𝟐, the students took their learning to the field for a 𝐆𝐞𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐒𝐮𝐫𝐯𝐞𝐲 at the USeP open field. Each round of the survey lasted around an hour, filled with teamwork, coordination, and shared excitement. Through the process, they gained a clearer understanding of how the equipment works and how data is interpreted. From the classroom to the open field, the students proved that sometimes the best way to learn geology is to get their hands (and boots) a little dirty.

Last October 3, 2025, our 4th-year students, led by Ms. Alexie Pongase — a member of the Bago Gallera Barangay Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council — conducted a First Aid Orientation for the 1st-year students in preparation for their upcoming fieldwork. This hands-on session marks an important milestone as they take their first step toward becoming ready, equipped, and confident in responding to real-life emergencies.

On August 14, 2025, the Association of Geology Students (AGeoS) warmly welcomed the incoming freshmen by hosting an engaging orientation and campus tour. The event highlighted the dynamic academic journey of geology students, emphasizing that the field extends beyond the classroom—fostering discovery, passion, and a strong sense of community.

Through interactive discussions and guided tours, AGeoS provided the new students with valuable insights into university life and the exciting opportunities that await them in the world of geology. Together, we look forward to exploring new knowledge and building a foundation for success.

On October 6, 2024, the USeP - Association of Geology Students held this year's General Assembly and OJT Re-Echo with the theme CaCO₃: Carving Connections Converging Community, gathering all enrolled BS Geology Students at the College of Engineering lobby.

With the guidance and assistance of our esteemed faculty and the newly elected organization officers, the event dissolved any doubts and brought us together as a unified front, creating sinkholes of wisdom and stalactites of shared experiences. The day was filled with 'stalactight' ideas and 'stalagreat' discussions, creating a foundation as unshakeable as calcium carbonate!

During last month’s Disney-themed Acquaintance Party on March 5, 2024, students embodied various characters from the beloved franchise, which recently commemorated its centennial, and actively participated in engaging activities that forged unity and camaraderie.
