Aya-ay, Dean of Mapúa MCM–College of Health Sciences, presented papers at the International Conference on Frontiers of Environment and Energy (ICFEE 2026), held in Fukuoka, Japan, on March 6–8. He presented the studies “Estimation and Assessment of Carbon Sequestration Stocks in Topsoils of Reclaimed and Revegetated Mined-Land in a Mineral Extraction Site in Bunawan District, Davao City” and “Spatial Mapping and Assessment of Heavy Metal Contamination in Sediments Across the Ecological Catchments of Davao City and Samal Island (IGACOS): Basis for Water Resource Management."

Following the first session held last September 24, 2025, Mapúa Malayan Colleges Mindanao (Mapúa MCM), in collaboration with Lac Hong University (LHU) in Vietnam, continues the Global Signature Course this November 12, 2025.

The upcoming session will feature Phan Thi Pham, Ph.D., Lecturer and Researcher from LHU, who will continue to discuss Identifying Research Topics; Aimee Abdul, Ph.D., Associate Professor at Mapúa MCM, on Data and Data Collection; and Joel Don Untalan, Instructor in Bioinformatics for Health Sciences at Mapúa MCM, on Data Analytics for Research.

The session will take place at 8:00 AM (GMT+7, Vietnam Time) and 9:00 AM (Philippine Standard Time) via Zoom through the Global Classroom and Zoom.

This Global Signature Course forms part of Mapúa MCM’s collaboration with Cintana Education and Arizona State University (ASU), advancing globally relevant education and fostering cross-cultural learning opportunities.

Mapúa Malayan Colleges Mindanao (Mapúa MCM), in collaboration with Universum College in Kosovo and Galala University in Egypt, proudly presents the next session of the Global Signature Course (GSC).

This session will feature a diverse panel of faculty experts from around the world as they explore innovative approaches to cancer research and treatment.

Professor Assistant Dr. Dua Danjolli-Hashani from Universum International College in Egypt will discuss “The Role of Natural Antioxidants in Combating Cancer: Bridging the Gap Between Traditional Remedies and Modern Medicine.”

Ernesto C. Torrecampo II, RPh, from Mapúa MCM in the Philippines, will share insights on “Pharmaceutical Biochemistry of Natural Antioxidants: A Philippine Perspective on Drug Discovery and Cancer Therapy.”

Completing the panel, Associate Professor Sherif Elsabaagh from Galala University in Egypt will present on “Machine Learning Models to Predict Thyroid Cancer Recurrence.”

The session will take place on November 14, 2025, at 5:00 PM (Philippine Time) via Zoom.
