Tamayong Elementary School proudly presents its Booth for the Calinan West District Stakeholders’ Forum 2026 held at Calinan Central Elementary School, showcasing the school’s achievements, programs, activities, and projects made possible through the support and collaboration of its various stakeholders.
The activity was attended by stakeholders, teachers, and Ma'am Ruthlyn H. Sumandang, Principal III. This presentation would not have been possible without the teamwork and dedication of the teachers headed by Ma'am Wendy A. Ordoña, Master Teacher I.
The school will continue to strengthen partnerships and seek more stakeholders to achieve greater success and accomplishments in the future.

MILO Philippines Brings Energy and Joy to ARAL Summer Learners in Tamayong
TAMAYONG, DAVAO CITY — Learners participating in the ARAL Summer Program at Tamayong Elementary School happily welcomed the visit of MILO Philippines, which brought nutritious snacks and smiles to the children.
As part of their outreach activity, representatives from MILO distributed warm porridge and refreshing MILO drinks to the ARAL summer learners. The children enjoyed the nutritious treats while taking part in the day’s learning activities.
The feeding activity aimed to support the learners’ health and energy as they continue participating in the summer academic intervention program. Teachers and parents expressed gratitude for the generosity and support extended by the organization.
School Principal Dr. Ruthlyn H. Sumandang and ARAL Summer volunteer teachers also conveyed appreciation to MILO Philippines for helping promote both learning and nutrition among the children of Tamayong Elementary School.

Packed with Nutrition and Love: Kiwanis Supports ARAL Summer Feeding Program in Tamayong
TAMAYONG, DAVAO CITY — Kiwanis International through Kiwanis Club of Mt. Apo donated five cartons of Manna Rice containing 36 pouches to support the feeding program of ARAL Summer learners at Tamayong Elementary School.
The donation was made in response to the request of School Principal and fellow Kiwanian Dr. Ruthlyn H. Sumandang, with assistance from Lt. General Maria Teresa Ria Bacayo and Dr. Cristy T. Besario. The Manna Rice was used to prepare champorado for the Day 4 feeding activity, while other meals such as arroz caldo, porridge, and binignit will also be served in the coming days.
Known for its nutritional value and humanitarian purpose, Manna Rice symbolizes nourishment and love from donors, helping ARAL learners become healthy, energized, and ready to learn.

ARAL Reading Program and Camp Asia Produce Grade-Ready Learners
TAMAYONG, DAVAO CITY — The ARAL Reading Program, in partnership with Camp Asia, significantly improved the reading performance of Grades 4–6 learners based on the recent Phil-IRI results.
From 106 learners identified under the frustration level at the start of the school year, only 11 remained by year-end, reflecting an impressive 89.62% improvement and producing more grade-ready learners.
The achievement highlights the success of intensive reading remediation, regular monitoring, and the collaborative support of teachers, volunteers, and Camp Asia partners.
School Principal Dr. Ruthlyn H. Sumandang recognized the program as a strong effort in developing empowered, confident, and academically successful readers through sustained intervention and community partnership.

Camp Asia Expands Educational Access for Indigenous Learners
TAMAYONG, DAVAO CITY — May 8, 2026 — Fifty (50) parents of beneficiary learners joined the Parents’ Organizing Orientation led by Camp Asia under its Academic Achievement Enhancement Program for SY 2026–2027.
The activity strengthened parental involvement and community support in improving educational access for Indigenous learners in Davao City. Parents were oriented on the program’s goals and their important role in supporting their children’s academic success.
Such activity was highly appreciated by Dr. Ruthlyn H. Sumandang, recognizing its positive impact on Indigenous communities and underserved learners.

23 of 24 Teachers Participate in Virtual Seminar on Learning Systems Reform Policies
TAMAYONG, DAVAO CITY — May 8, 2026 — Twenty-three (23) out of twenty-four (24) teachers of Tamayong Elementary School actively participated in the Virtual Seminar-Workshop on Learning Systems Reform Policies Orientation conducted today.
The activity aimed to enhance teachers’ understanding of current educational reforms and policy directions geared toward strengthening the delivery of quality education. Participants engaged in meaningful discussions on learning systems improvement, policy implementation, and strategies aligned with the goals of the Department of Education.
School Principal Dr. Ruthlyn H. Sumandang commended the teachers for their dedication and active participation in professional development initiatives that promote continuous learning and improved educational outcomes for learners.
