“RPh-erspective through lens and pens…”

Yes, I am a pharmacist. I am, indeed, a Legal Drug Lord. According to Rudyard Kipling, "I am by nature a dealer in words, and words are the most powerful drug known to humanity." Weak words make ideas appear dull, drifting them away into oblivion. But powerful words inspire us to change our lives for the better, and that is what I have.
Pharmacists have powerful words that persuade customers and patients. They convey everything there is to know about medications. With their knowledge, they dispense medicines that turn into small, life-saving miracles. They are strong and reliable, too, in a way that they will never leave you in sickness and in health. With these, you could say that pharmacists as professionals can be longer-lasting than most romantic relationships.
"Pharmacy is not only about the art of medicine and dispensing, but also about care and love for humanity," says Ashika Madhavi. As a science, pharmacy is the preparation and distribution of medical drugs. As healthcare workers, pharmacists deal with informing patients about medications and treatment plans. But who tells the pharmacist about all this information? This is where academic pharmacists step in.
Like a torch in the night that lights the way, academic pharmacists teach and train future generations of pharmacists and pharmaceutical scientists. As teachers, they put students through impactful yet thorough training for the transfer of knowledge to occur. The conduct of research, abstractions, rote memorizations and field immersion are just a few things that academic pharmacists give to students to hone their communication skills, crystallize their knowledge, and prepare them for leadership.
But even as members of the academe, they are not without new contributions to the pool of knowledge. They, too, conduct experiments, discover new things, challenge existing knowledge, and improve upon them. To some extent, they also attend classes for continued professional development. All of these and more are performed by academic pharmacists to continually hone themselves, and by extension, their students.
In the image presented, the academic pharmacist is instructing how to titrate solutions. She is explaining how to experiment, as well as the dos and don'ts that needed to be observed. She assigns tasks and teaches them how to properly handle each apparatus. By doing so, the academic pharmacist helps develop their leadership and skills through cooperation and effective communication. In another way, it also helps students gain confidence by actually performing the experiments themselves rather than just reading them in books.
In conclusion, success in the pharmacy profession takes a lot of sacrifices and requires extensive study. But in the end, it is both noble and rewarding as it contributes largely to the health of the community and society as a whole. Pharmacists are life-savers because they aid in the prevention and even cure of various diseases. As Rajnish Tiwari put it, a pharmacist is like a superhuman who turns a bunch of chemicals into a life-saving drug.
I am a pharmacist. And I am proud to be one.
