The Society of Hospitality Management Students officers and creatives warmly welcomed the 1st year Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management students on July 29, 2026, as part of the Campus Tour 2026! This celebration showcased the skills, achievements, and spirit that align with the program.

​The booth featured interactive stations tailored for the new bees! BEE in Uniform presented the official uniforms worn across the courses, while BEE-hind the Skills highlighted interactive demonstrations of napkin folding and table setups. The Hall of BEE-lievers celebrated the proud achievements of HM students, and BEE-verage and Bites served refreshing drinks and treats to everyone! To make the experience even more special, SoHMS also hosted fun games that created unforgettable memories.

​This event was made possible through the hard work of the outgoing and incoming officers and staff, who ensured a truly memorable experience. Heartfelt gratitude is extended to all first-year HM students for their enthusiastic participation.

𝐄𝐱𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐇𝐨𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲: 𝐎𝐉𝐓 𝐂𝐮𝐥𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐂𝐆𝐒𝐏 𝐏𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠

The Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management (BSHM) 4th Year students of the University of Southeastern Philippines successfully conducted their “Stay and Learn” Activity held on May 18–19, 2026 at Park Inn Hotel.
This two-day educational immersion served as a meaningful culmination activity of the students’ On-the-Job Training (OJT), where they were given the opportunity to showcase the knowledge, skills, professionalism, and experiences they gained from the hospitality industry.
Through hotel exposure, guided tours, immersion activities, and interaction with hotel professionals, the students deepened their understanding of real-world hospitality operations and luxury service standards. The activity also strengthened their communication skills, confidence, teamwork, and preparedness for their future careers in the hospitality industry.
One of the highlights of the event was the Culmination Program and Awarding Ceremony, recognizing the hard work and dedication of the students throughout their OJT journey. In addition, a special Pinning Ceremony was conducted for the students who successfully passed the CGSP Training, officially recognizing them as Certified Guest Service Professionals (CGSP).

This activity also supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly:
✅ SDG 4 – Quality Education, by providing experiential and industry-based learning opportunities;
✅ SDG 8 – Decent Work and Economic Growth, by preparing students with professional competencies needed in the hospitality and tourism industry; and
✅ SDG 17 – Partnerships for the Goals, through collaboration between the university and hospitality industry partners in promoting quality education and professional development.
The event became a celebration of excellence, perseverance, and achievement as students were honored for their commitment to hospitality and service professionalism.

The University of Southeastern Philippines, together with the faculty members and industry partners, continues to provide meaningful experiential learning opportunities that help mold globally competitive and service-oriented hospitality professionals.

[𝐂𝐎𝐍𝐐𝐔𝐄𝐑 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐏𝐄𝐑𝐊𝐒] 𝐁𝐒𝐇𝐌 𝟐𝐧𝐝 𝐘𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 – 𝐄𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐅𝐢𝐞𝐥𝐝 𝐓𝐫𝐢𝐩 𝐚𝐭 𝐃𝐚𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐚𝐲𝐚𝐧

The BSHM 2nd-Year Students successfully completed their first land tour—Field Trip beyond Davao City from April 23 to 25, 2026, at the Dahilayan Forest Park, Bukidnon. The three-day journey offered the sophomores a thrilling opportunity to step out of the classroom and into the heart of one of the Philippines' premier eco-tourism destinations, where they witnessed the seamless blend of nature and professional hospitality.

The immersive tour served as a dynamic laboratory for the major subjects, Quality Service in Tourism and Hospitality and Supply Chain Management. The students engaged in deep learning about the complexities of resort operations, from the logistical precision required to manage a remote mountain destination to the high standards of guest relations. A definitive highlight was the expert talk delivered by Ma’am Alyanna, the Food and Beverage Manager of Dahilayan Forest Park, whose insights into managing high-volume operations provided the students with a realistic and exciting perspective on their future careers.

We express our heartfelt gratitude to our dedicated instructors, Dr. Arrgie Roy G. Busalla and Dr. James T. Antonio, whose tireless guidance and mentorship made this tour not only organized and successful but also lighthearted and memorable. Their support ensured that we navigated the challenges of the field with confidence. We also extend our appreciation to the management of Dahilayan Forest Park for welcoming us and sharing their industry expertise.

As the journey concluded, the students returned home inspired by the rugged beauty of Bukidnon and equipped with a stronger resolve to excel in the hospitality industry. These experiences have laid a solid foundation for their growth, proving that the best lessons are often learned through adventure and hands-on exploration.

​The 1st-year students of Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management (BSHM) did not just pull off a successful industrial tour; they also made it fun and worth remembering. Last April 7, 2026, all 1st-year students stepped into an interesting adventure where learning and fun went hand in hand at EDEN Nature Park and Resort.

​The industry exposure started with an informative talk that tackled the brief history and facts of EDEN and the importance of housekeeping, where the speakers also shared their experiences with customers' complaints and how they dealt with them. Afterward, they held a brief question and answer session about the topics discussed, where they prepared some prizes for those who were able to answer.

​Students were able to get a glimpse of the kitchen where food and delicacies are produced. The rest of the morning was allocated for students to visit different gardens; this was accompanied by a shuttle and a tour guide who constantly provided facts about each stop. During the second part of the industry exposure in the afternoon, students were given a chance to explore on their own and were encouraged to experience the rides and activities offered, such as sky cycling, the sky rider, horse riding, and more.

​We express our sincere gratitude to those whose guidance and support made this activity possible—our Associate Dean, Dr. Ma. Joy G. Soriano; our Program Head, Dr. Suzette C. Quico; Dr. Xennie Y. Tupas; and the BSHM faculty who joined us: Dr. Nowa Cyhryl C. Balderas, Sir James T. Antonio, Ma'am Candy D. Nuez, and our BSHM Property Custodian, Ma’am Rosil Mae U. Amistad. Their dedication played a vital role in the success of this industry exposure.
