Corcuerian young artist 𝐌𝐚𝐜𝐲 𝐁𝐥𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐞 𝐓. 𝐍𝐢𝐬𝐧𝐞𝐚 clinched 𝐓𝐇𝐈𝐑𝐃 𝐏𝐋𝐀𝐂𝐄 in the 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗙𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗢𝗻-𝘁𝗵𝗲-𝗦𝗽𝗼𝘁 𝗣𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿-𝗠𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗲𝘀𝘁 held at the Regional Department of Agriculture Regional Field Office XI (DA-RFO 11), Regional Government Complex, Bago Oshiro, Tugbok District, Davao City, on September 18, 2026.

Nisnea showcased her creativity and artistic talent alongside 14 other elementary contestants from public and DepEd-accredited private schools as they brought this year’s theme, “Innovate Today, Nourish Tomorrow,” to life through powerful and meaningful works of art.

Her impressive performance earned her a spot among the top finishers, reflecting her creativity, dedication, and determination to excel in the field of visual arts.

Her achievement was further strengthened by the guidance and mentorship of her coach, 𝐒𝐢𝐫 𝐃𝐨𝐧𝐧 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐦𝐨𝐭𝐚𝐧, whose artistic expertise and support helped her bring her ideas to the canvas.

𝐌𝐄𝐃𝐀𝐋 𝐇𝐀𝐔𝐋: 𝐂𝐨𝐫𝐜𝐮𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐂𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐮𝐬 𝐉𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐬 𝐁𝐚𝐠 𝟏𝟕 𝐌𝐞𝐝𝐚𝐥𝐬

Seventeen of the 19 Corcuerian campus journalists brought home medals during the Tibungco District Schools Press Conference held today at Sixto Babao Elementary School.

The young journalism enthusiasts competed against aspiring student writers from five other schools in the Tibungco District, showcasing their skills in various journalism events.

Their impressive performance reflected their dedication, determination, and passion to write, report, capture stories, and, above all, uphold truth and responsible journalism through their craft.

Behind the students’ achievement were the unwavering efforts of the VFCES school paper adviser and coaches, who, despite their demanding schedules, devoted their time and expertise to train, guide, and support the budding journalists.

The 17-medal haul serves as a testament to the students’ hard work and the commitment of their mentors in nurturing the next generation of campus journalists.

VFCES athletes delivered an impressive performance at the recently concluded Tibungco District Athletic Meet, held last July 25–26, earning medals and securing slots for the upcoming Unit II Athletic Meet.

Leading the school’s medal haul were the athletes in Athletics, who dominated various running, jumping, and throwing events. Their outstanding performances resulted in a string of medals, showcasing their speed, strength, skill, and determination. Adding to the school’s triumph, the Badminton Boys also clinched a gold medal, providing an astonishing final touch to VFCES’ remarkable victory.

Addressing the teacher-coaches, chaperons, technical officials, and athletes, School Principal Michael B. Escartin congratulated Team VFCES for their outstanding performance.

“Your dedication, discipline, perseverance, and teamwork have brought immense pride and honor to our school. Every medal earned and every event successfully officiated reflects your hard work, commitment, and passion for excellence.”

Meanwhile, Jackielyn O. Maybuena, VFCES Sports Coordinator, expressed her appreciation to everyone who contributed to the team’s success.

With their impressive showing at the district level, the Corcuerian athletes now set their sights on the Unit Meet, carrying with them the pride and hopes of the entire VFCES community.

𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚 𝐆𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭: 𝐒𝐚𝐟𝐞 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥𝐬 𝐂𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐢𝐠𝐧 𝐥𝐚𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐭 𝐕𝐅𝐂𝐄𝐒

In response to DepEd’s call in ensuring schools as a safe and motivating environment for learners, the Supreme Elementary Learner Government in partnership with the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 11 launched a Safe Schools Campaign under the Project H.E.A.R.T agenda. This initiative that commenced on July 24, 2026 was also fully supported by the school’s Child Protection Policy, Guidance, and Disaster Risk Reduction Management committees.

Resource speakers from the RMFB 11, PSSg George Z. Burnea, Police Community Relations PNCO, and PCpl Glory Fe Dqjao shared relevant and informative topics such as Anti-Illegal Drugs, Safe Spaces Law, and Anti-Bullying in schools. Learners from Grade Five, Section Karangalan, were the first to participate in the lecture series that emphasized on helping children create and advocate for a safe and motivating environment. This timely collaboration is also set to continue on select Fridays until all higher-grade sections are able to participate.
Partnerships with law enforcement agencies such as the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 11 has been further encouraged by DepEd Order 006, s. 2026, where the guidelines for Ensuring a Safe and Motivating Learner Environment (ESMLE) stresses the importance of having a whole-of-society approach in strengthening Learner Rights and Protection, mental health support, and positive discipline across schools.

Please be informed that the resumption of on-site classes and work applies only to schools and offices that have been inspected,
assessed, and declared safe for occupancy by the Office of the City Building Official (OCBO) following the recent earthquake.

As of this time, Vedasto F. Corcuera Elementary School has not yet undergone the required inspection and safety assessment by the OCBO.

Therefore, the Work-From-Home (WFH) arrangement shall remain in effect on Thursday, June 11, 2026, for all teaching and non-teaching personnel.

We kindly ask everyone to continue observing safety precautions and await further advisories regarding the inspection results and the resumption of face-to-face classes and on-site work.

In anticipation of possible aftershocks and pending the completion of ongoing structural assessments, government offices in Davao City, including local government offices and national government agencies, shall adopt a work-from-home arrangement tomorrow, June 9, 2026, EXCEPT for offices providing safety and security, health, sanitation, traffic management, social services, and disaster and emergency response services.

The private sector is encouraged to adopt similar arrangements to ensure the welfare and safety of their employees.

Face-to-face classes at all levels in both public and private educational institutions shall remain suspended tomorrow, June 9, 2026, pending the completion of safety inspections.

Educational institutions are encouraged to adopt online or distance learning modalities to ensure the welfare and safety of their students and personnel.
