In accordance with the nationwide campaign for disaster preparedness and resilience, the school head, teaching and non-teaching personnel, together with the students of Joaquin National High School, actively participated in the 2026 2nd Quarter National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) held today, June 18, 2026, at 9:00 AM.

The activity strengthened earthquake preparedness and promoted safety awareness through the proper ex*****on of the “Duck, Cover, and Hold” procedure. Through initiatives like the NSED, JNHS continues to foster a culture of readiness, coordination, and resilience, ensuring a safe and prepared learning environment for all.

𝗥𝗘𝗦𝗨𝗠𝗣𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 𝗢𝗙 𝗙𝗔𝗖𝗘-𝗧𝗢-𝗙𝗔𝗖𝗘 𝗖𝗟𝗔𝗦𝗦𝗘𝗦 𝗢𝗡 𝗝𝗨𝗡𝗘 𝟭𝟭, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 (𝗧𝗛𝗨𝗥𝗦𝗗𝗔𝗬)

Following the thorough inspection, validation, and assessment conducted by the City Engineer’s Office, Joaquin National High School has been officially declared 𝐬𝐚𝐟𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐨𝐜𝐜𝐮𝐩𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐲.

In view of this, 𝐟𝐚𝐜𝐞-𝐭𝐨-𝐟𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐜𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐮𝐦𝐞 𝐭𝐨𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐫𝐨𝐰, 𝐉𝐮𝐧𝐞 𝟏𝟏, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 (𝐓𝐡𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐝𝐚𝐲). Students are reminded to arrive at school on or before 7:15 AM to ensure their attendance during the start of classes.

The safety and well-being of our learners and personnel remain our utmost priority. We sincerely thank everyone for their patience, cooperation, and understanding while the inspection and assessment were being conducted.

EARTHQUAKE UPDATE 5

𝐎𝐧-𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐢𝐧 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐠𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐮𝐦𝐞 𝐭𝐨𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐫𝐨𝐰, 𝐉𝐮𝐧𝐞 𝟏𝟎, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔.

The City Government is working closely with the DepEd Davao City Division and CHED Region XI on the ongoing structural assessment of educational facilities.

Face-to-face classes at all levels in both public and private educational institutions MAY likewise resume tomorrow, June 10, 2026, PROVIDED that their respective institutions have completed the necessary structural assessments and have been declared safe for occupancy by the appropriate authorities.

Educational institutions that have not yet completed their assessments or have not yet been cleared for occupancy shall continue to adopt online or distance learning modalities until such time that their facilities are declared safe.

DepEd and CHED Region XI, together with their respective educational institutions, shall inform learners, parents, and personnel regarding the resumption schedule of face-to-face classes.

The City remains under BLUE ALERT status. All BDRRMCs, volunteer groups, and partner agencies are hereby advised to remain on standby, pre-position the necessary equipment and supplies, and submit situational reports to the Operations Center for consolidated monitoring and coordinated action.

Any changes or update shall be announced accordingly.

𝐏𝐎𝐒𝐓-𝐄𝐀𝐑𝐓𝐇𝐐𝐔𝐀𝐊𝐄 𝐒𝐀𝐅𝐄𝐓𝐘 𝐈𝐍𝐒𝐏𝐄𝐂𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍 𝐂𝐎𝐍𝐃𝐔𝐂𝐓𝐄𝐃 𝐈𝐍 𝐒𝐂𝐇𝐎𝐎𝐋

Following the recent earthquake, an ocular inspection was conducted to assess the condition of the school's buildings and facilities and ensure the safety of students, teaching and non-teaching personnel, and other stakeholders.

The inspection was carried out through the collaborative efforts of Barangay Captain Pedrito Cañedo Sr. of Barangay Biao Joaquin, Hon. Frederick Alcala Sr., Barangay DRRM In-Charge, and personnel from PS 10 Calinan Police Station. The team thoroughly examined school structures and facilities for any possible damage and potential safety hazards that may have resulted from the earthquake.

The school extends its sincere appreciation to all officials and personnel involved for their immediate response and unwavering support in prioritizing the safety and welfare of the entire school community.

𝐂𝐋𝐀𝐒𝐒 𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐖𝐎𝐑𝐊 𝐒𝐔𝐒𝐏𝐄𝐍𝐒𝐈𝐎𝐍

Due to the recent earthquake experienced in Davao City, classes at all levels, both public and private institutions, and work in all local and national government offices within the city are hereby suspended effective immediately, today, June 8, 2026.

Private offices and institutions are likewise encouraged to do the same to ensure the welfare and safety of their employees .
