𝙋𝙇𝘼𝙉𝙃𝙎 𝙨𝙝𝙤𝙬𝙘𝙖𝙨𝙚𝙨 𝙗𝙚𝙨𝙩 𝙥𝙧𝙖𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙘𝙚𝙨 𝙞𝙣 𝙋𝙖𝙠𝙞𝙜-𝘼𝙈𝘽𝙄𝙏 2026

Porferio L. Antipala National High School (Formerly Talandang National High School) warmly welcomed Engr. Arman S. Morales, Public Schools District Supervisor (PSDS) of Cluster 14, during the Pakig-AMBIT 2026 – Strengthening School-based Implementation of the Enhanced K to 12 Curriculum Through Technical Assistance to School Leaders and Teachers.

During the visit, Engr. Morales commended the school for its implementation of the curriculum, school-based management, and administrative structure. His observations highlighted the school’s efforts to ensure that its programs, systems, and practices remain responsive to the needs and safety of its learners and the school community.

Among the best practices showcased by the school was its H.E.A.R.T. Program, presented by Sir Jim R. Alberca. The program provides support to learners who face significant financial and personal challenges, offering not only assistance but also guidance through the dedicated support of each teacher.

The school was well-prepared for the visitation as Ma’am Jeanne M. Baliad, Principal I, closely monitored the implementation of the school’s programs, ensured the readiness of the teaching and non-teaching personnel, and guided the school in maintaining its systems and practices.

The school’s efforts were further strengthened by the support of its stakeholders, particularly by the presence of School Governing Council (SGC), represented by Mr. Victor Felix Bongator and Mrs. Samelyn Andoy.

The success of the visitation was also made possible through the collective efforts of the entire school community, school personnel, parents and guardians, students, the Barangay Council of Talandang, and the PTA. Everyone worked together and actively supported the school’s programs and activities, contributing to the school’s readiness.

The Pakig-AMBIT 2026 visit served not only as an opportunity for technical assistance and monitoring but also as a venue for PLANHS to share practices that embody its commitment to responsive, safe, and learner-centered education.

𝙋𝙇𝘼𝙉𝙃𝙎 𝙟𝙤𝙪𝙧𝙣𝙖𝙡𝙞𝙨𝙩𝙨 𝙗𝙖𝙜 𝙧𝙚𝙘𝙤𝙜𝙣𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙞𝙣 𝘾𝙖𝙢𝙥𝙪𝙨 𝙅𝙤𝙪𝙧𝙣𝙖𝙡𝙞𝙨𝙢 𝘼𝙘𝙖𝙙𝙚𝙢𝙮 𝙔𝙚𝙖𝙧 4

Student journalists from Porferio L. Antipala National High School once again showcased their skills and passion for journalism as they participated in the fourth year of the Campus Journalism Academy organized by the Department of Education Davao City Division.

Held on August 15, 2025, at Crossing Bayabas National High School, the event brought together student journalists from various public and private schools across Davao City.

The academy featured workshops covering various disciplines, including news writing, feature writing, editorial writing, photojournalism, editorial cartooning, and other areas of journalism.

Through these sessions, participants were given opportunities to develop their skills and gain a deeper understanding of the different roles of a campus journalist.

Representing PLANHS for the third consecutive year, its student journalists actively participated in the workshops and hands-on activities.

They put the lessons and techniques shared by the trainers into practice as they worked on their respective outputs.

With the guidance of the trainers, the student journalists gained valuable insights into responsible journalism and the importance of accuracy, creativity, and effective communication.

Their efforts were further highlighted as several PLANHS journalists earned recognition among the academy's best outputs. Rheana Jade V. Catalan secured 4th place in Editorial Cartooning (English Category), while Princess Zilfa A. Empit placed 4th in Photojournalism (English Category). Tesha Mae O. Manos, meanwhile, earned 9th place in Photojournalism (Filipino Category).

The participating journalists also received certificates in recognition of their active involvement in the academy and completion of the training.

Their participation and achievements serve as another step toward strengthening the school's campus journalism as they prepare for the upcoming Division Schools Press Conference in September 2026.

PLANHS Boy Scouts of the Philippines and the Supreme Secondary Learner Government conducted a clean-up drive in Barangay Talandang as part of their duty to the community.

This activity aimed to make a big change in the community. It valued cleanliness and discipline in the community.

“I've seen our canals here are very dirty, that's why I conducted a clean-up drive,” — Jim R. Alberca, WBH.

This initiative brought hope for a cleaner community—this simple action brought a big impact on the community.

A true scout and a true leader are not measured in badges and ranks; they are measured in their commitment and their willingness to serve.

This was not just a clean-up drive—it showed how the scouts and student representatives cared for, loved, and nurtured the community. Even beyond the sunny sky, they kept cleaning with perseverance, determination, and teamwork.

Guided by Jim R. Alberca, WBH, coordinator of the Boy Scouts of the Philippines in PLANHS, the scouts, along with the SSLG, cleaned and removed trash from the drainage. They cleaned the drainage with no fear, no doubt, and no regret.

The Barangay Council for the Protection of Children (BCPC) of Talandang, in partnership with Porferio L. Antipala National High School and its Parent-Teacher Association, conducted a child protection and parenting activity on August 8, 2026, at the PLANHS Social Hall.

The program, facilitated by Kagawad Jean Bansag, gathered parents and community stakeholders for discussions on effective parenting, children’s rights and laws, anti-bullying, and learner discipline, emphasizing the shared responsibility of families, schools, and communities in protecting children.

PTA President Ryan Adlawan was also in attendance, representing the parents and reinforcing the important role of families in supporting school and community efforts toward learner protection.

The Empowerment and Reaffirmation of Paternal Abilities Training (ERPAT), led by Rosal Libaton of the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO), focused on strengthening parents’ understanding of their roles, responsibilities, and influence on their children’s development.

A discussion on children’s rights and protection laws was conducted by Pat. Joy Dela Torre and Tañala, covering the Anti-Rape Law, Violence Against Women and their Children (VAWC) Law, and the importance of fostering a culture of security within families and communities.

Meanwhile, Shiela Marie V. Magno facilitated the Parent Effectiveness Seminar, where participants explored different parenting styles through activities and role-playing and reflected on how these approaches may affect children.

The program also addressed anti-drug and anti-bullying measures, reinforcing the importance of early intervention and the active involvement of parents and community members in preventing behaviors that may harm children.

Ma’am Katherine Robledo discussed bullying prevention and learner discipline, including appropriate interventions, levels of discipline, acts that constitute bullying, and their corresponding consequences.

Her discussion was particularly timely amid continuing concerns over child safety and bullying in Philippine schools and was aligned with DepEd Order No. 006, s. 2026, which provides guidelines for ensuring a Safe and Motivating Learning Environment (ESMLE).

The policy emphasizes learner protection, positive discipline, and the shared responsibility of schools and stakeholders in creating learning environments where children are safe, respected, and supported.

Through the continuing partnership of Barangay Talandang Council, PLANHS, and the PTA, the community strengthened its commitment to protecting learners and ensuring that their safety, rights, and well-being remain a shared priority.

Porferio L. Antipala National High School officially opened its Intramural Meet 2026 with the theme, "Fostering Unity, Sportsmanship, and Excellence Through Sports and Healthy Competition."

The event began with a colorful parade, followed by the opening program. Before the start of the first day’s activities, Ma'am Jeanne M. Baliad, Principal I, delivered her opening message and formally declared the Intramural Meet 2026 open.

One of the highlights of the opening program was the ceremonial lighting of the torch led by Jeremie B. Etick and EJ Wilrio T. Onas, both volleyball players who proudly represented Davao Region in the Palarong Pambansa during their respective years of participation. The ceremony proceeded with the Athletes' Oath of Amateurism, led by Megan Ashley P. Sabido. Their achievements served as an inspiration to the participating student-athletes.

This was followed by the banner-raising ceremony of the six competing teams. After the ceremony, the games officially commenced as students competed in their respective events.
