On the second day of the 2026 Chung Yuan Christian University (CYCU) Summer Camp, Dean Michael G. Calamba, Dean of the College of Engineering and Architecture, delivered his lecture titled "Ocean Renewable Energy Systems" — a technical session covering tidal, wave, ocean current, OTEC, and salinity gradient technologies, and their role in resource conversion, grid integration, and deployment tradeoffs.

Joining Dean Calamba were Mapúa MCM student delegates who participated in the summer camp, engaging in the lecture and building connections with fellow students and faculty from CYCU's College of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science.

This engagement reflects Mapúa MCM's continuing commitment to internationalization, student global exposure, and academic collaboration in engineering and sustainability.

Mapúa Malayan Colleges Mindanao (Mapúa MCM) proudly participated in the Opening Ceremony of the 2026 Chung Yuan Christian University (CYCU) Summer Camp in Chung Li, Taiwan, marking the institution's fourth participation in this international program.

Representing Mapúa MCM, Dean Michael Calamba, Dean of the College of Engineering and Architecture, presented the institution's history, academic excellence, research achievements, and community engagement initiatives, highlighting Mapúa MCM's commitment to internationalization and global engagement.

During the visit, Dean Calamba also met with Shih-Lun Chen, Dean of the College of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at Chung Yuan Christian University (CYCU).

Mapúa MCM students gathered virtually on March 11, 2026, for the second session of the Global Signature Course of Ms. Dexie Marie M. Hernandez, RPh, MBA and Nora Shabani, MSc, RN, bringing together the fields of Pharmacy and Nursing to tackle the theme "Cross-Cultural Care and One Health: A Shared Perspective."

The program opened with a deep dive into the "One Health Approach," where students explored how human health is tied to the animals and environment around us. This was paired with a powerful lecture on cross-cultural care, teaching students how to provide sensitive, culturally responsive nursing care to patients from all walks of life.

The highlight of the event was the cross-cultural learning opportunity made possible through Mapúa MCM’s collaboration with Arizona State University and Cintana Education.

Mapúa Malayan Colleges Mindanao (Mapúa MCM) proudly celebrates the achievements of our student researchers at the 2026 10th International Conference on Civil Engineering (ICOCE 2026) in Singapore.

Congratulations to John Michael Y. Kho, Christian Kent B. Gerona, Jojit A. Millanes Jr., Mary Christine A. Perono, Raphaella Angela R. Raga, and Jon Alessandra A. Yamas for showcasing the excellence of Mapúa MCM through their research on the international stage.

Their research contributions, “A Study of the Influence of Lighting Schemes on User Perception, Panic, and Decision-Making During Evacuation Scenarios” and “Daylight Glare Assessment and Mitigation of the Tolentino 2020 Building's East-Facing Façade in Davao City,” demonstrate their dedication to addressing real-world challenges through innovation and scientific inquiry.

These accomplishments reflect Mapúa MCM's commitment to developing globally competitive researchers whose work contributes to the advancement of knowledge and creates meaningful impact in society.
