In consideration of the safety of all learners following the recent earthquake, classes tomorrow will be conducted through 𝗕𝗟𝗘𝗡𝗗𝗘𝗗 𝗟𝗘𝗔𝗥𝗡𝗜𝗡𝗚 for schools 𝗡𝗢𝗧 𝗬𝗘𝗧 𝗖𝗟𝗘𝗔𝗥𝗘𝗗 for on‑site classes. This is based on the official list released by the City Government and pending final clearance from the Office of the City Building Official (OCBO). Learners are advised to stay at home and prioritize safety. Further announcements will be posted as updates are received.

Last Monday, June 8, 2026, at 7:00 AM, Teofilians gathered for the first flag ceremony of the school year. What began as a celebration of a new academic year quickly turned into a lesson on preparedness when a strong earthquake struck during the program.

Fortunately, because students were already assembled in an open area, many were kept away from potential dangers inside classrooms. Through everyone's cooperation and the guidance of our teachers and school personnel, safety remained the top priority.

A day that reminded us that every ceremony has a purpose, and sometimes, it can make all the difference.

In anticipation of possible aftershocks and pending the completion of ongoing structural assessments, government offices in Davao City, including local government offices and national government agencies, shall adopt a work-from-home arrangement tomorrow, June 9, 2026, EXCEPT for offices providing safety and security, health, sanitation, traffic management, social services, and disaster and emergency response services.

The private sector is encouraged to adopt similar arrangements to ensure the welfare and safety of their employees.

Face-to-face classes at all levels in both public and private educational institutions shall remain suspended tomorrow, June 9, 2026, pending the completion of safety inspections.

Educational institutions are encouraged to adopt online or distance learning modalities to ensure the welfare and safety of their students and personnel.

During the Flag Ceremony at Teofilo V. Fernandez National High School, a strong earthquake was felt, prompting immediate safety measures across the campus.

Under the leadership of Principal Dr. Elma P. De Castro, the safety and well-being of all learners and personnel were prioritized. As a precautionary measure, students were immediately dismissed and advised to return home safely while school authorities ensured an orderly evacuation and response.
