Wangan NHS Celebrates Pride Month with Unity and Inclusivity

In line with the Department of Education's 2026 Pride Month Celebration and its theme, "DepEd's Pride: Where Every Identity Belongs," Wangan NHS proudly joined the observance of Pride Month today by wearing rainbow-colored polo shirts as a symbol of support for diversity, equality, and inclusion.

Teaching and non-teaching personnel participated in the activity, demonstrating the school's commitment to fostering a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment for all members of the school community.

The colorful display of rainbow polos reflected solidarity with the values of acceptance and respect, regardless of gender identity and sexual orientation.

The activity also served as a reminder of Wangan NHS's dedication to promoting gender sensitivity, equal opportunities, and a culture where everyone feels valued and respected.

As Pride Month draws to a close, Wangan National High School reaffirms its commitment to creating a school community where diversity is celebrated and every individual has a place to belong.

Wangan NHS Participates in 2nd Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill

WNHS successfully conducted the 2nd Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) onThursday, June 18, reinforcing the importance of disaster preparedness among students, teachers, and school personnel.

The activity began with an orientation on earthquake safety, followed by the sounding of the alarm signal.

Students and staff immediately performed the standard "Duck, Cover, and Hold" procedure before proceeding in an orderly manner to the designated evacuation areas.

The drill aimed to familiarize participants with proper earthquake response protocols and strengthen the school's readiness for emergencies.

The activity carried greater significance this year following the strong earthquake that shook parts of Mindanao on June 8, coinciding with the opening of classes for School Year 2026–2027.

For many students and teachers, the recent earthquake served as a wake-up call on the importance of knowing the correct actions during disasters.

As a result, the earthquake drill provided a valuable opportunity to practice life-saving measures and assess the school's emergency response procedures.

School officials emphasized that disaster preparedness should be a shared responsibility among learners, educators, and the community.

Through regular drills and continuous awareness campaigns, Wangan National High School remains committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of its stakeholders.

By actively participating in the drill, Wangan National High School demonstrates its commitment to building a culture of safety and preparedness, ensuring that students and personnel are equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to respond effectively during earthquakes and other emergencies.

Tungod kay wala pa ma-inspect ug ma-assess ang kahimtang sa atong mga building ug pasilidad, magpadayon sa pagkakaron June 11 ang Distance Learning Modality (DLM) sa Wangan National High School aron masiguro ang kaluwasan sa tanang estudyante, magtutudlo, ug kawani.

Ang inyong mga magtutudlo magpadala ug mga buluhaton ug learning activities pinaagi sa inyong mga Group Chats (GCs).

Palihug bantayi kanunay ang inyong mga GC ug siguroha nga makadawat ug makatuman kamo sa mga gipanghatag nga buluhaton sulod sa gitakdang panahon.

Maghulat lamang sa opisyal nga pahibalo gikan sa eskwelahan bahin sa pagbalik sa face-to-face nga klase sa higayon nga mahuman na ang inspeksyon ug mapamatud-an nga luwas na ang atong mga pasilidad.

Salamat sa inyong pagsabot, kooperasyon, ug padayon nga suporta sa pagkat-on sa atong mga kabatan-onan.
