The Graduate School of Arts and Sciences (GSAS) will be conducting Research Public Forum for Graduate Students currently in their Thesis Writing Phase With the Theme, “𝑫𝒂𝒕𝒂, 𝑳𝒊𝒇𝒆, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑫𝒊𝒔𝒄𝒐𝒖𝒓𝒔𝒆: 𝑰𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒅𝒊𝒔𝒄𝒊𝒑𝒍𝒊𝒏𝒂𝒓𝒚 𝑨𝒑𝒑𝒓𝒐𝒂𝒄𝒉 𝒕𝒐 𝑺𝒖𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒊𝒏𝒂𝒃𝒊𝒍𝒊𝒕𝒚 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑰𝒏𝒄𝒍𝒖𝒔𝒊𝒐𝒏”, this coming October 24, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔, , 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝟖:𝟎𝟎 𝐀𝐌 𝐭𝐨 𝟏𝟐:𝟎𝟎 𝐏𝐌 at the USeP CAS Building E209-E210. The GSAS Faculty and students are encouraged to attend the said event to witness the researchers’ intellectual endeavors and progress in contributing to the body of knowledge through their search for wisdom.

𝗠𝗘𝗘𝗧 𝗢𝗨𝗥 𝟮𝗻𝗱 𝗣𝗟𝗘𝗡𝗔𝗥𝗬 𝗦𝗣𝗘𝗔𝗞𝗘𝗥 | 𝗜𝗖𝗔𝗦 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲

𝗜𝗖𝗔𝗦 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 welcomes a scholar whose career spans continents and disciplines, 𝗗𝗿. 𝗔𝘂𝗿𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗼 𝗦𝗼𝗹𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗔𝗴𝗰𝗮𝗼𝗶𝗹𝗶. He currently serves as Chair of the Department of Indo-Pacific Languages and Literatures at the University of Hawai'i at Mānoa, while also leading the global NAKEM community as President of NAKEM Conferences and Chair of the NAKEM Consortium. His academic journey, backed by a Fulbright Scholarship and degrees in business administration, philosophy, and classical studies, has shaped him into an educator equally at home teaching ethics, writing, and public policy. Recognized with multiple awards and grants from the Philippines and the United States for his work in creative writing, research, and communication, 𝗗𝗿. 𝗔𝗴𝗰𝗮𝗼𝗶𝗹𝗶 offers a rare depth of insight for conference attendees. The University of Southeastern Philippines’ Master of Arts in Literature (MALIT) program has earned Level III Re-accreditation from the 𝘈𝘤𝘤𝘳𝘦𝘥𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘈𝘨𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘺 𝘰𝘧 𝘊𝘩𝘢𝘳𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘥 𝘊𝘰𝘭𝘭𝘦𝘨𝘦𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘜𝘯𝘪𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘦𝘴 𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘗𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘱𝘱𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘴 (𝘈𝘈𝘊𝘊𝘜𝘗). The survey was conducted via Zoom from May 19-21, 2026. Seasoned accreditors identified key areas for improvement in instruction, research, faculty development, and library services, while praising the program’s strong foundation, reliable alumni, and dedicated efforts to preserve, sustain, and develop Mindanao’s literary and cultural landscapes.

A team from the 𝗠𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗰𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰𝘀 𝗗𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 successfully conducted an extension training workshop for teachers of 𝗗𝗮𝘃𝗮𝗼 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝗼𝗻 𝗠𝘂𝗹𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗔𝗻𝗮𝗹𝘆𝘀𝗶𝘀 𝗨𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗥.

The training was facilitated by𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳. 𝗙𝗲 𝗙. 𝗟𝗮𝗿𝗴𝗼, who served as the lecturer and guided the participants through the concepts and practical applications of multivariate analysis using R.

USeP proudly welcomes Dr. Joy M. Sorrosa, an accomplished educator, scientist, academic leader, and distinguished alumna of the University, as the Guest of Honor and Speaker for the Commencement Exercises of the Graduate Programs of USeP Obrero Campus on 11 September 2026.
Currently serving as the fourth President of Davao del Norte State College (DNSC), Dr. Sorrosa has devoted more than three decades to teaching, research, public service, and academic leadership. Her contributions to quality education and institutional excellence have earned her numerous distinctions, including the Manuel T. Corpus Outstanding Quality Champion Award 2026, AACCUP’s highest distinction for performance excellence.
Her own academic journey carries a special meaning for the USeP graduate community. Dr. Sorrosa earned her Master of Arts in Science Education from the University of Southeastern Philippines before pursuing her Doctor of Philosophy in Science (Biological Sciences) at the University of Tsukuba, Japan.
From a graduate student at USeP to the president of a higher education institution, her journey embodies the possibilities that education can open. Now, she returns to her alma mater to inspire a new generation of scholars, professionals, and leaders.
We look forward to welcoming home a distinguished alumna whose journey continues to inspire learning, leadership, and purposeful service.
