For today’s throwback Thursday, we relive the moment our beloved guest speaker, Kyrr Justino Zerrudo, passed the PNLE and garnered the 3rd place!

TOP 3! Licensure examinations take months of preparation! But this nursing fresh graduate says otherwise. Kyrr Zerrudo did not only pass his board exam but he was also named Top 3 out of 9,000 takers a month after graduating from nursing school! He didn’t just pass it, he aced it! "I started back in January, pero that was tricky kasi ang graduation po namin sa Ateneo ay April and then I took the board exams one month after graduation. So, I just had roughly about one month of preparation sa board exam," Kyrr said. Kyrr said he went through a hard time juggling his review classes and his final term in nursing school. Oftentimes, he would find himself studying until 4:00 AM. Kyrr admitted that a lot of people, including his family and professors, had second thoughts about his plan. After the first day of exams, Kyrr was so sure that he was going to flunk it. He was not able to study 13 subjects for his board exams! "Sinasabi ko na po sa sarili ko 'Kyrr, papasa ka pa ba? Feel ko mababagsak ka na, i-accept mo na lang,'” he said. But Kyrr was determined to pass the exam! And he succeeded! After learning the results, Kyrr immediately called his parents to break the good news. "After po nun, tinawagan ko po ‘yung parents ko… Si mama po ‘yung tinawagan ko sa Messenger tapos sabi ko po sa kanya, 'Ma nakapasa ako.' Tapos umiiyak na po siya, alam na po pala niya. Sinabi po sa kanya ng kapatid ko… Sabi ko pa sa kanya na meron pang pasabog, Top 3 po ako sa board exams. Tapos humagulgol na po siya sinabihan niya ko na, 'Thank you, anak,'” Kyrr shared. Now that he is a registered nurse, Kyrr said he plans to practice the profession and then from there, he would decide whether he would pursue med school or look for opportunities outside the country.
