NEWS: San Miguel Elementary School Holds SELG Elections for SY 2026–2027
San Miguel Elementary School successfully conducted its Supreme Elementary Learner Government (SELG) Elections on January 30, 2025, for School Year 2026–2027, reinforcing the school’s commitment to developing student leadership and democratic values.
The election was organized by the school SELG Commission on Elections (COMELEC) in coordination with school administrator and advisers. The process included candidate screening, a campaign period, and a peaceful and orderly voting activity.
The newly elected SELG officers committed themselves to serving with integrity, responsibility, and dedication to the welfare of their fellow learners. They are expected to lead student initiatives, promote positive school culture, and support various academic and co-curricular programs.
The school administration expressed appreciation for the active participation of learners and the cooperation of teachers, highlighting the importance of SELG elections in nurturing future leaders and responsible citizens.

Division Top Management Conducts “Pakig-AMBIT 2026” at San Miguel Elementary School to Strengthen Monitoring and Evaluation
San Miguel Elementary School — January 15, 2026
The Schools Division of Davao City conducted “Pakig-AMBIT 2026” (Assess, Monitor, Build-up, Implement, Tasking) at San Miguel Elementary School, a strategic initiative aimed at enhancing school management and operations, teaching and instruction, student learning outcomes, and teachers’ professional development. The primary purpose of school monitoring and evaluation is to ensure continuous improvement in teaching, learning, and overall school performance, which serves as the foundation of this activity.
The activity was led by Reynante A. Solitario, CESO V, Schools Division Superintendent, with close supervision and administrative support from Brian B. Banzon, CESE, School Principal II and Designated Coordinating Principal (DCP) of General Roxas North, alongside Gerard S. Pil, Administrative Officer V, and Melanie V. Colipano, Administrative Officer IV, who facilitated task assignments and oversaw the implementation of monitoring tools.
During the activity, the assigned monitors conducted a systematic review of classroom management, teaching and learning resources, school facilities, and administrative processes. Operational gaps were identified, recommendations were provided, and resources were reinforced to ensure smooth and effective school operations.
Pakig-AMBIT 2026 underscores the Division’s commitment to school improvement through direct oversight and support. By actively engaging with schools, the initiative ensures adherence to standards, addresses operational challenges, and fosters readiness for academic demands.
The outcomes of the initiative are significant, enhancing teaching and learning quality, strengthening school governance, and promoting a culture of continuous improvement. Through Pakig-AMBIT 2026, the Schools Division Top Management reaffirms its dedication to supporting schools in delivering quality education and cultivating an environment conducive to student and teacher success.
