On June 8, 2026 (Day 2), the College of Hospitality and Tourism Management Education (CHaTME) faculty members participated in a class immersion under the guidance of Prof. Trianasari, Ph.D., CHE, focusing on Teaching Methodologies and Strategies in Hospitality and Tourism. The faculty members observed innovative teaching approaches and learner-centered pedagogies employed in hospitality education and actively participated in a Front Office laboratory class, gaining valuable insights into experiential learning, skills-based instruction, and industry-oriented training practices implemented at UNDIKSHA.

A significant highlight of the day was a collaborative meeting with the Faculty of Economics, where both institutions explored potential areas for future partnership, including joint research initiatives, faculty and student exchange programs, internship opportunities, collaborative online international learning (COIL), guest lectures, and curriculum development. The discussions reflected a shared commitment to strengthening international academic cooperation and creating meaningful learning experiences that transcend geographical boundaries.

The immersion also provided an opportunity for interdisciplinary learning as the CHaTME faculty joined the class of Dr. Gusti Ayu, where they gained insights into accounting education within the sociocultural context of Indonesian learners. The exchange of perspectives highlighted how cultural influences shape teaching methodologies, classroom interactions, and learner engagement, fostering a deeper appreciation of diverse educational practices.

𝗖𝗢𝗠𝗠𝗨𝗡𝗜𝗧𝗬 𝗘𝗫𝗧𝗘𝗡𝗦𝗜𝗢𝗡 𝗔𝗖𝗧𝗜𝗩𝗜𝗧𝗬 | 𝗠𝗔𝗡𝗚𝗥𝗢𝗩𝗘 𝗥𝗘𝗛𝗔𝗕𝗜𝗟𝗜𝗧𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡

On May 29, 2026, from 7:00 AM to 10:00 AM, the BSTM Community Extension Services conducted a Mangrove Rehabilitation Activity at the Mangrove Rehabilitation Area, Brgy. Matina Aplaya, Davao City.

Ms. Shenna T. Baguio, BSTM Community Extension Services Focal Person, organized the activity in collaboration with the Social Action Office of Holy Cross of Davao College, represented by Mr. Paolo Naval, and in partnership with the Barangay Local Government Unit of Brgy. Matina Aplaya. The initiative was participated in by 83 BSTM interns, 4 BSTM Faculty members, 1 SAO representative, and 10 barangay personnel.

The activity aimed to strengthen environmental stewardship, promote coastal ecosystem conservation, and encourage active community engagement among students and stakeholders. Through this collective effort, participants contributed to the protection and rehabilitation of mangrove ecosystems, which play a significant role in preserving biodiversity and enhancing the resilience of coastal communities.

Holy Cross of Davao College, through the College of Hospitality and Tourism Management Education (CHaTME), remains steadfast in its commitment to sustainability, environmental responsibility, and transformative community engagement through meaningful extension initiatives.
