Motorcycle troubleshooting generally follows a "fuel, spark, air" approach: check the battery/cabling for electrical issues, ensure fuel flow (petcock, fresh fuel), verify spark plugs are functional, and confirm the air filter is clean. Common issues like hard starting are often caused by clogged fuel injectors, low battery voltage, or fouled spark plugs.

Common Troubleshooting Steps

1. Engine Won't Start (Turns Over): Check for spark (spark plugs/coil), fuel flow (ensure petcock is on/no clogged lines), and fuel quality.

2. Engine Won't Start (No Noise/Clicking): Charge or replace the battery. Check for loose connections on the battery, starter, and ground wires.

3. Hard Starting: Check for carburetor issues, clogged fuel injectors, or old fuel. Use engine start spray if necessary.

4. No Power/Hesitation: Check for clogged air filters, fuel line issues, or spark plug gaps.

5. Electrical Issues: Test voltage (above is good) with a multimeter. Inspect wiring for loose connections or corrosion.

6. Engine Noises: Pinging may indicate low octane fuel, while knocking during deceleration could be internal engine issues.
