🥬🌱 FRIDAY VEGGIES CONTINUES AT BANARAO ELEMENTARY SCHOOL! 💚

At Banarao Elementary School, our commitment to nurturing healthy and happy learners continues through our Friday Veggies initiative! This week, we introduced our learners to a delicious and nutritious bola-bola made from puso ng saging (banana blossom)—a locally available crop that is commonly grown and found within our community. 🍌🥬

Through simple, creative, and homegrown food choices, we hope to help our learners discover that healthy food can also be delicious and enjoyable. More than just a meal, Friday Veggies is an opportunity to build healthy eating habits and appreciation for the food our community can provide.

Our sincerest gratitude to the teachers of Banarao Elementary School for your full support and encouragement throughout the DSPC. Your time, effort, and dedication made this experience meaningful for our learners.

A special thank you to our coaches, Coach Ma’am Almecel and Coach Sir Manuel, for patiently guiding and preparing our learners. To our School Head, Nancy G. Bustaleño, PhD Nancy Gelicame-Bustaleño, thank you for your unwavering support and leadership.

We are also grateful to our partner community. Thank you, Ma’am Pedronio Sheila May Waram Pedronio, for helping us secure the approval for transportation during the event. And to our Barangay Captain of Talandang, Cap. Gil Lopez Gil Lopez, thank you for allowing our children to utilize the barangay vehicle.

What a proud moment for Banarao ES! 💚

Our young campus journalists gave their best at the Scribbler’s Cup 2026, and their hard work paid off with three championship finishes. Behind every award were countless drafts, revisions, practice, and the patience of their coaches who stayed with them every step of the way.

To Taylor, Blessie Grace, Elizabeth, and Jhunna—congratulations! Your achievement is something the whole Banarao ES family can be proud of. 🏆✍️

Three Pens, One Purpose: Banarao ES Dominates Scribblers Cup 2026

Banarao Elementary School made a historic sweep at the Scribblers Cup 2026: Campus Journalism Challenge on August 22 at Mintal ES. Outperforming 11 schools across Tugbok East District under the theme “Ink, Truth, and Purpose,” Banarao ES brought home three 1st-place awards: Taylor O. Manguiran in News Writing (English), Blessie Grace B. Palmes in Pagsulat ng Balita, and Elizabeth Garcia in Feature Writing.

This triumph was built on relentless preparation and dedicated mentorship. Coach Almecel religiously guided Taylor and Blessie, routinely extending extra hours after school to refine drafts and hit target goals. Meanwhile, Coach Manuel maintained strict standards, drawing from earlier Academy training to push writers like Elizabeth and Erica through repeated revisions and raw critiques.

Overcoming intense fear and competition pressure, the young reporters turned anxiety into victory. Their outstanding achievement earned praise from PSDS Rene Sultan, who urged the champions to keep honing their skills for the upcoming Division Schools Press Conference (DSPC).

Beyond trophies, Banarao ES proved that determination, purpose, and community support drive success. With sharpened pens and renewed confidence, Taylor, Blessie, and Elizabeth now step forward to write their next winning chapter.
