In line with our 52nd Nutrition Month Celebration 2026 with the theme, β€œNutrisyon at Kalikasan, Ating Pangalagaan!”, every Friday at Banarao Elementary School is for healthy eating through our Friday Veggies.

Our learners are lovingly fed freshly prepared and nourishing vegetable meals with the steadfast support of our teachers and volunteer parents. β€œThis effort does much more than simply fill hungry stomachs, it teaches our children the importance of healthy eating and helps to build healthy eating habits.”

The best reward was the heartfelt words from our students:

πŸ’š "Lami kaayo, Sir. Unta permanente na ni."
πŸ₯„ "Daghana pa, Sir."
😊 "Pwede mobalik if kulangon, Sir?"

These simple but sincere words remind us that healthy food can really change the life of our children. Their smiles, their excitement and their gratitude inspire us to continue to build a school where every learner is nourished, healthy and ready to learn.

Stakeholders Unite to Serve Healthy Meals in Banarao ES Nutrition Month Initiative

The successful conduct of the classroom-based activity at Banarao Elementary School, dubbed β€œFriday Vegies,” as part of the Nutrition Month 2026 celebration highlights the role of the school community and stakeholders in promoting healthy eating habits among learners.

The activity was made possible through the joint efforts of City Councilor Enzo Villafuerte , via Special Assistant Kagawad Normie Elloran Onas, and the massive support of the school’s PTA Officers, Sheila May Waram Pedronio and Lovejoy Ramirez Daga-ang. The warmth of their generosity was evident as learners enjoyed a warm, nutritious vegetable porridge, an ideal meal that suited the cool, cloudy weather.

Friday Vegies was not simply about feeding learners. It was about demonstrating the importance of balanced nutrition to improve learners’ health, well-being and academic readiness. The initiative also showed how the power of partnerships between school, parents, local government, and the community can create meaningful opportunities that work for every child.

The school also acknowledges Sir Manuel, the EPP School Coordinator, for the conceptualization and the spearheading of the program, and the full support of the School Principal, Dr. Nancy Gelicame-BustaleΓ±o , and the faculty and staff ensured the success of the implementation of the activity in the classrooms. Banarao Elementary School would like to thank all the stakeholders, partners, and volunteers for their generosity and dedication that make programs like Friday Veggies possible. Together, they are building a culture of compassion, collaboration, and shared responsibility for the welfare of every learner and healthy eating habits.
