Bayanihan sa Paaralan and Gulayan sa Paaralan

July 4, 2026
As part of the school's commitment to providing a clean, safe, and conducive learning environment, Hilario K. Cernal Elementary School successfully conducted a Bayanihan sa Paaralan activity on July 4, 2026, with the active participation of parents and School Governing Council (SGC).
The activity began with the cleaning and clearing of the school surroundings. Volunteers worked together in removing stones, weeds, and unnecessary debris, leveling the ground, and improving the school landscape to ensure the safety of learners. At the same time, other volunteers dismantled old and damaged structures and roofing materials to prepare the area for future school improvement projects.
In support of the Gulayan sa Paaralan Program, participants also prepared and developed the school garden by cultivating the soil, cleaning the planting area, arranging garden plots, and planting vegetables. This initiative aims to promote food security, environmental awareness, and practical learning experiences for learners while encouraging healthy eating habits.
The activity demonstrated the true spirit of bayanihan, where every stakeholder willingly shared their time, effort, and resources for the benefit of the school community. Through teamwork, cooperation, and volunteerism, significant improvements were made to the school's environment, making it more attractive, safer, and more conducive to learning.
The successful implementation of the Bayanihan sa Paaralan and Gulayan sa Paaralan reflects the strong partnership between the school and the community. It also reinforces the shared responsibility of providing learners with a nurturing and sustainable learning environment. The school extends its heartfelt gratitude to all parents, volunteers, stakeholders, and community members whose invaluable support and dedication contributed to the success of this meaningful activity. Orientation on the Anti-Bullying Act of 2013 (Republic Act No. 10627)
On July 01, 2026, an Orientation on the Anti-Bullying Act of 2013 (Republic Act No. 10627) was successfully conducted at Hilario K. Cernal Elementary School. The activity was spearheaded by the Philippine National Police (PNP) – Sta. Maria with the resource speaker Patrolwoman Marjury Loriño-Pecolira and Patrolwoman Julie Anne L Celis in coordination with the school administration, as part of its continuing advocacy to promote a safe, respectful, and child-friendly learning environment. The orientation aimed to educate learners specially the Parents on the different forms of bullying, their rights and responsibilities, and the importance of preventing bullying incidents in school.
The program started with an opening prayer, the singing of the Philippine National Anthem, and welcome remarks from the School PTA President Edgar Agravante. The resource speakers Marjury Loriño-Pecolira discussed the provisions of Republic Act No. 10627, emphasizing the different types of bullying, including physical, verbal, social, and cyberbullying. They also explained the possible effects of bullying on the emotional, mental, and academic well-being of learners, as well as the importance of reporting bullying incidents to teachers, parents, or school authorities.
During the orientation, the PNP personnel encouraged the learners to practice kindness, respect, empathy, and responsible behavior both inside and outside the school and for the parents that Discipline starts at home. Interactive discussions and question-and-answer sessions were conducted to help the parents and Teachers better understand the topic and encourage their active participation.
The activity concluded with a message of appreciation from the school administration, expressing gratitude to the PNP Sta. Maria for sharing their time, knowledge, and commitment to promoting peace and discipline among learners. The orientation was successful and meaningful, as it strengthened the awareness of learners regarding the Anti-Bullying Act and reinforced the school's commitment to providing a safe, secure, and nurturing educational environment for all.
