Not all contributions happen inside the classroom. Some are found in the daily work that keeps a community safe, orderly, and ready for each new day.

Through 32 years of service, 𝗠𝗿. 𝗘𝗱𝘂𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗼 𝗟. 𝗗𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗴 became part of the work behind the scenes that supported the Grade School Unit and the wider Ateneo community. His years of dependable service remind us that every role has value in advancing the University’s mission.

We fittingly close our retiree feature series by recognizing a colleague whose work spoke through consistency and commitment. Sir Eduardo, daghang salamat sa inyong serbisyo. Deserve kaayo ninyo kining bag-ong chapter!

𝗦𝗣𝗘𝗖𝗜𝗔𝗟 𝗦𝗘𝗥𝗩𝗜𝗖𝗘 𝗔𝗪𝗔𝗥𝗗𝗘𝗘 | 𝗛𝗜𝗚𝗛𝗘𝗥 𝗘𝗗𝗨𝗖𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 𝗥𝗘𝗧𝗜𝗥𝗘𝗘

No meaningful career is built alone.

The 24 years of service of 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗿. 𝗔𝗹𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘁 𝗕. 𝗝𝘂𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗼, 𝗘𝗱𝗗 were enriched by shared work, professional relationships, and a commitment to the academic community. His experience in teaching and administration reflects the value of growing alongside colleagues while contributing to something greater than oneself.

With energy, dedication, and a genuine heart for learners, 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗿. 𝗘𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗼 𝗠. 𝗙𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗿 spent 26 years contributing to the School of Engineering and Architecture. His work showed that knowledge becomes even more valuable when shared with patience, generosity, and purpose.

“Some ideas become meaningful traditions.”

In 2013, 𝗠𝘀. 𝗗𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗮 𝗩𝗶𝗱𝗮 𝗠. 𝗔𝗯𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗮 integrated Global Marketing for International Linkage into one of her subjects, an initiative that remains part of the program today. Her 13 years in the School of Business and Governance show how one educator’s vision can shape learning beyond her own time in the classroom.

𝗦𝗣𝗘𝗖𝗜𝗔𝗟 𝗦𝗘𝗥𝗩𝗜𝗖𝗘 𝗔𝗪𝗔𝗥𝗗𝗘𝗘 | 𝗛𝗜𝗚𝗛𝗘𝗥 𝗘𝗗𝗨𝗖𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 𝗥𝗘𝗧𝗜𝗥𝗘𝗘

Thirty-seven years represent more than the passage of time. They reflect countless days of teaching, learning, and contributing to the academic life of the University.

Today, we recognize 𝗠𝗿. 𝗥𝗮𝘆𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝗦. 𝗩𝗶𝘇𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗮, 𝗣𝗵𝗗, College Instructor of the School of Arts and Sciences. The knowledge he imparted and the work he accomplished will continue to speak through the students whose education he helped enrich.

Opening our Higher Education retiree features is 𝗠𝗿. 𝗔𝗽𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗿 𝗛𝗲𝗻𝗿𝘆 𝗧. 𝗙𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗲𝘇, College Instructor of the School of Arts and Sciences. Throughout his 24 years in Ateneo, he contributed to a culture of learning shaped by thoughtful exchange, curiosity, and respect for different perspectives.

Salamat, Sir Henry, for sharing your knowledge and perspective with the Ateneo community. The ideas and insights exchanged in your classroom will continue to live on in the people you taught.

The classroom chapter may end, but its influence continues.

A meaningful 24-year chapter of service comes to a close as we honor 𝗠𝘀. 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗮 𝗖𝗵𝗼𝗻𝗮 𝗟. 𝗭𝗮𝗳𝗿𝗮. Her commitment and presence have become part of the Junior High School community and the many lives she encountered along the way.

As our final Junior High School retiree feature, we recognize the contribution she has made throughout her years in Ateneo. Maraming salamat, Ms. Zafra. May retirement bring you well-deserved rest, happiness, and fulfilling days ahead.

Some forms of service are felt most in moments when someone needs direction, reassurance, or simply a person willing to listen.

As Guidance Counselor, 𝗠𝘀. 𝗩𝗶𝗿𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗮 𝗧. 𝗗𝗲 𝗥𝗼𝗱𝗮 spent 20 years accompanying students through moments of growth, uncertainty, and discovery. Her work reflects the quiet but important role of helping young people move forward with greater confidence and purpose.

Ms. De Roda, salamat sa paggabay, pakikinig, at malasakit. May your next chapter bring you the same encouragement and joy you generously shared with others.

As our tribute moves to the Junior High School, we honor 𝗠𝘀. 𝗔𝗹𝗺𝗮 𝗥𝗮𝘆𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗮 𝗦. 𝗕𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗼𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗮, whose remarkable 40 years of service reflect a life of perseverance, leadership, and commitment to the Ateneo mission.

From being an Atenean herself to serving as an educator and administrator, she gave back to the community that helped form her. Sa paglipas ng mga taon, naging bahagi siya ng maraming kwento, pagbabago, at tagumpay ng Junior High School.
