Rooted in our commitment to engage communities as prophetic leaders and citizens, our students participated in the turnover of donations to our partner communities.
Through this simple act of sharing, they learned that faith, service, and responsible citizenship come alive in concrete encounters with others.

To realize the goals of Jesuit education, which is preparation for life and emphasizes the belief that the success of Jesuit education is measured not only in terms of knowledge acquisition but rather in terms of the quality of life (CJE 37), the Grade 10 Junior High School students continue to visit their partner elementary schools and have Christmas fellowship with their tutees. ๐
TULONG DUNONG is all about building a community of support, kindness, and learning. We are so proud of our Grade 10 students for embodying the values of service and leadership, making a lasting impact on both their peers and the younger pupils they mentor. ๐โค๏ธ

Christian Service Learning Program (CSLP) is a combined community-engaged learning and classroom experience that utilizes community service, other civic engagement activities, and regular reflection to meet different subject area competencies and community needs. It provides an avenue for students to have hands-on experience addressing real-world challenges while connecting academic competencies with community needs and fostering civic responsibility. For the third Quarter visit, the grade 9 students focus on activities that address poverty and social injustices by promoting the partner institutionโs advocacy while conducting team-building activities and fellowship.

Effective March 19, 2024, the Al Qalam Institute for Islamic Identities and Dialogue in Southeast Asia together with Ecoteneo, Madaris Volunteer Program (MVP) and Malnutrition Alternative (MIA) are already under the supervision and oversight of the Ateneo de Davao's University Community Engagement and Advocacy Council (ADDU UCEAC).
This transfer from under the Office of the President to UCEAC was formalized through the release of University Memorandum No. 2024--027 from the Office of the University President, Rev. Fr. Karel S. San Juan, SJ which aimed to consolidate all engagement and advocacy efforts of the university. The same memo also announced the reappointment of the center directors and members of the council headed by the Chairperson, Mr. Mark Paul "Macoy" Samante.
The Al Qalam Institute headed by Executive Director Datu Mussolini Sinsuat Lidasan welcomes and supports this development in the organizational structure of the university. Working with the council and its member centers and programs is no longer new to Al Qalam as it had been engaging UCEAC in almost all of its engagements with its local, national and international stakeholders through its programs, projects and activities (PPAs) implemented for its partners communities in Mindanao.

TD VISIT 2024
Sharing with you some captured moments of the Grade 10 students' Tulong-Dunong Program from sections Pignatelli, Regis, and Xavier at Matina Elementary School (MAES). During this visit, our G10 students dedicated themselves in imparting their knowledge in both Math and English to the Grade 6 students at MAES. In the same way, our students learned how to become teachers to their students (tutees) by accompanying them in this formative partnership.
