Bunawan Teachers Rise, Shine, and Conquer!

Not all victories come with medals. Some come with a new title, a wider responsibility, and a deeper call to serve. In Bunawan District, a new generation of teacher-leaders is rising after earning well-deserved promotions.

With PSDS Riza Joy R. Sarile at the helm, five dedicated educators stepped into the rank of Master Teacher I—Chona F. Nieves, Luievee Pulvera, YmmyLou Piyao, Rona Marie P. Laporre, and Emely N. Omay.

The celebration grew brighter as Hannah Mae T. Salvo and Kareen B. Suganob advanced to Teacher III, while Erwin B. Dagatan and Rema Fil Pico earned promotion to Teacher II.

Behind every promotion lies a story of early mornings, challenging classrooms, countless lesson plans, and unwavering dedication to learners. These educators did not simply climb the career ladder—they carried with them the trust of the children and communities they serve.

Their achievement reminds everyone that teaching is not merely a profession measured by ranks. It is a journey where every milestone becomes a greater opportunity to lead, inspire, and make a difference.

Today, Bunawan District celebrates not just promoted teachers, but teachers who continue to rise, shine, and inspire others to reach higher.

✨ New Leaders, New Horizons in Bunawan ✨

New faces, new assignments, and new hopes marked a fresh chapter in Bunawan District as four school leaders took on new leadership roles during the Leadership Turnover Ceremony on August 11, 2026, at the Bunawan District Office.

The ceremony brought together the District Supervisor of Bunawan District, Riza Joy R. Sarile, Malabog District Principal-In-Charge Mary Law M. Vilbar, school heads from both districts, and teacher representatives who gathered to witness the transition of leadership and honor the service of the outgoing and incoming school principals.

Among those honored was Renalyn S. Calunzag, Principal IV, the outgoing school head of D.M. Perez Central School SPED Center, who will take on a new responsibility as Principal-In-Charge of Marilog Central Elementary School. Her years of leadership in Bunawan District were recognized as she passed the school leadership to her successor.

Taking the helm of Daniel M. Perez Central School SPED Center is Jessica M. Alonzo, EdD, Principal III, who is moving from Mahayag Elementary School. Her new assignment brings fresh leadership to one of Bunawan District’s schools serving learners with diverse educational needs.

Meanwhile, Chito I. Cudada, Principal II, is moving from San Miguel Elementary School to Mahayag Elementary School, while Ronel A. Maravillas, formerly of Beto Elementary School in Malabog District, assumes leadership at San Miguel Elementary School.

The symbolic turnover of school flags and seals highlighted the ceremony, representing more than a change of names on office doors, it signified the continuation of responsibility, commitment, and service to learners.

For the teachers and school communities witnessing the occasion, the movement of school leaders was a reminder that leadership is not about staying in one place, but about carrying one’s purpose wherever service calls.

As the four school heads begin their new assignments, the ceremony closed with a message of unity and optimism: new leaders bring new perspectives, but the mission remains the same, to build stronger schools and brighter futures for every learner.

Thirty-Two Hearts, One Victory ⭐

Success is not always measured by trophies, it is often written through dedication, passion, and the willingness to learn. This was proven by the 32 teachers of Bunawan District as they proudly took part in the 10th Campus Journalism Academy of the Schools Division Office, turning an ordinary training into an inspiring story of excellence.

United by one goal, the teachers embraced every lecture, workshop, and writing challenge with determination. Their hard work paid off as Bunawan District earned 3rd Place - Most Number of Participants and the prestigious Best Output Award, proving that teamwork and commitment can transform learning into achievement.

The district also celebrated individual victories. Ruby Mae T. Adeva (RubyMae Talingting Adeva) of Sto. Niño Elementary School captured 5th Place in Feature Writing (English), Elleison Jay T. Vivas (Ejay Vivas II) of Mahayag Elementary School secured 7th Place in Sports Writing (English), while Charlyn Mae C. Wanal (Charlynmie Carlos Wanal) of Bunawan Aplaya Elementary School placed 10th Place in News Writing (Filipino). Their achievements reflected not only personal excellence but also the district's growing strength in campus journalism.

The success of Team Bunawan was made possible through the unwavering support of District Supervisor Riza Joy R. Sarile, whose commitment to professional growth inspired teachers to pursue excellence. Equally instrumental were the encouragement of the school principals and the dedicated leadership of Neziel Marcellones Rodriguez, MT I, District Campus Journalism Coordinator, together with Janice Ilaguison, Principal II, Coordinating Principal, whose guidance empowered the participants throughout the academy.

More than medals and certificates, the academy reminded everyone that every teacher who learns becomes a stronger mentor, every writer who grows inspires another voice, and every story written today shapes the journalists of tomorrow. Indeed, Bunawan District did not simply win awards, it wrote another remarkable chapter in its journey toward excellence, proving that when educators rise together, future journalists rise with them.

🏀🥏🏸 Beyond the Finish Line 🏐⚽️🏓

With the inspiring leadership of District Supervisor Riza Joy R. Sarile, the dedicated guidance of District PESS Coordinator Mary Grace M. Cabongcal (MG Cab), and the steadfast support of District PESS Consultant Wengil O. Baguio, the Bunawan District Athletic Meet 2026-2027 became more than a sporting event, it became a celebration of determination, unity, and excellence among young athletes.

As the morning sun illuminated the grounds of Buhisan Elementary School, the air came alive with cheers, hopeful smiles, and the rhythmic footsteps of student-athletes ready to give their all. For two memorable days, 410 athletes from 10 participating schools gathered not only to compete but also to discover the strength that comes from discipline, teamwork, and perseverance.

Every race began with courage. Every serve, kick, jump, and throw reflected months of sacrifice and preparation. Behind every athlete stood devoted coaches, supportive parents, and committed mentors who believed that success is earned through hard work and unwavering determination. Even those who fell short of the podium walked away carrying something greater than medals, the confidence to rise again.

The district meet proved that sports are not merely about winning. They build character, forge lasting friendships, and teach young people to compete with integrity and respect. Every handshake after a match, every word of encouragement from teammates, and every applause from the crowd echoed the true spirit of sportsmanship.

As the final whistle blew and champions were recognized, the greatest achievement was not measured by trophies but by the countless dreams awakened on the playing field. Guided by dedicated educational leaders and united by one purpose, the Bunawan District Athletic Meet reminded every participant that true victory lies beyond the finish line in the courage to dream, the heart to persevere, and the determination to become tomorrow's champions.
