Vicenta C. Nograles National High School proudly celebrates its student-athletes who delivered outstanding performances at the Unit 1 Meet 2026, earning gold medals in Lawn Tennis, Boxing, and Futsal and securing their places in the upcoming Davao City Athletic Association (DCAA) Meet 2026.

In Lawn Tennis Doubles Boys, Johnrey Palac and Krisneil Bendulo emerged as champions, displaying skill, composure, and determination throughout the competition. Their victory was made possible through their dedication and the guidance of their coaches, Ms. Kissy Claire O. Mosquera and Ms. Maria Bernadette I. Rosario.

VCNNHS also celebrated a strong showing in Boxing Boys, with Eric William A. Arana, Reneboy D. Reyes, and Cyril Kim H. Quimbo bringing home gold medals for the school. Under the mentorship of their coach, Ms. Maileen R. Chua, the young boxers demonstrated courage, discipline, and fighting spirit inside the ring.

Adding to the school's triumph, the Futsal Girls team, represented by Kristal Jane Lor, Janilla J. Bague, and Krisha Samblaceno, also emerged as champions. Guided by their coach, Ms. Mira Joy B. Calapate, the athletes showcased teamwork, endurance, and determination that earned them the coveted gold.

More than the medals, these victories reflect the commitment of the athletes and coaches who devoted their time and effort to training and representing the school with pride. Their achievements serve as an inspiration to fellow Vicentians and a reminder that excellence is built through discipline, teamwork, and perseverance.

September 11, 2026 — Vicenta C. Nograles National High School successfully conducted its In-Service Training (INSET) for Teachers as part of the Term 1 End-of-Term Block, providing school personnel with an opportunity to strengthen professional practices, revisit important guidelines, and prepare for another term of quality teaching and learning.

The whole-day activity was facilitated by the School In-Service Training and Professional Development Coordinator, Ms. Unice D. Diao, with the support of the school administration, Technical Working Group, department representatives, and participating teachers.

The training formally opened with an opening program, followed by Session 1: “Positive Discipline in Practice: Managing Learner Behavior for Effective and Safe Learning Environments,” facilitated by Ms. Crislie Odtojan, Teacher II and Guidance Advocate. The session emphasized constructive and learner-centered approaches to managing behavior while promoting safe, respectful, and supportive learning environments.

After the health break, Mr. Ronald V. Bolanio, Assistant to the Principal, facilitated the Review of the Guidelines on the Multi-Year Performance Management and Evaluation System for Teachers from School Years 2025–2026 to 2027–2028. The discussion provided teachers with important guidance on performance management, evaluation processes, and expectations for their continuing professional development.

The afternoon session began with a Management of Learning activity facilitated by the MAPEH Department, followed by Session 2: “Goal Setting for Professional Growth: Aligning Development Plans with the Philippine Professional Standards for Teachers (PPST).” The session was facilitated by Ms. Shiela Mae Ramagos, Teacher II, and Ms. Maryan Te-Cabante, Teacher II, focusing on helping teachers establish meaningful professional goals aligned with the PPST and their individual development needs.

The activity concluded with an evaluation, synthesis of key learning points, and a closing program highlighted by the awarding of certificates. Assistant to the Principal Mr. Ronald V. Bolanio led the closing activities and recognized the teachers for their active participation and commitment to continuous professional improvement.

Through the Term 1 INSET, VCNNHS reaffirmed its commitment to building a culture of continuous learning among educators. More than completing a professional development requirement, the activity served as an opportunity for teachers to reflect on their practices, strengthen their competencies, and renew their commitment to creating safe, effective, inclusive, and learner-centered classrooms as the school prepares for Term 2.

𝐎𝐧𝐞 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥, 𝐎𝐧𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐞: 𝐕𝐂𝐍𝐍𝐇𝐒 𝐉𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐬 𝟑𝐫𝐝 𝐐𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐍𝐒𝐄𝐃 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔

September 10, 2026 — Vicenta C. Nograles National High School actively participated in the 3rd Quarter National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) 2026 held at 2:00 PM, joining schools and institutions nationwide in promoting disaster preparedness and earthquake safety.

The drill coincided with the school’s Stakeholders’ Forum 2026, which was ongoing at the time. Teachers, school personnel, and invited stakeholders temporarily paused the activity and fully participated in the earthquake drill, demonstrating cooperation and readiness in observing proper emergency procedures.

The school’s participation was facilitated by SDRRM Coordinators Ms. Noemi De Leon and Ms. Mariel C. Reyes, under the leadership of School Head Mr. Renz Angelo D. Calzada.

The activity highlighted the importance of preparedness not only among learners and school personnel, but also among partners and stakeholders who form part of the wider school community.

Through its participation in the NSED, VCNNHS reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening a culture of safety, preparedness, and collective responsibility in times of emergencies and disasters.

September 10, 2026 — Vicenta C. Nograles National High School brought together its education partners, parents, teachers, and community stakeholders during the Stakeholders’ Forum held on September 10, 2026, beginning at 1:00 p.m. The activity served as a venue for presenting the school’s accomplishments, ongoing programs and projects, and future directions while strengthening collaboration with partners who continue to support the school and its learners.

The program opened with the Philippine National Anthem and an opening prayer, followed by the acknowledgment of participants and guests. Mr. Renz Angelo D. Calzada, School Head of VCNNHS, delivered the opening remarks, emphasizing the important role of partnerships and shared responsibility in creating better opportunities and a safe, responsive, and learner-centered school environment.

During the forum proper, Mr. Andres R. Banguiran, Jr., School Governing Council Co-Chairperson, presented the school’s accomplishments, highlighting the milestones and initiatives achieved through the collective efforts of teachers, learners, parents, and stakeholders.

The PTA accomplishments and projects were subsequently presented by Mr. Eric Marquez, GPTA President, showcasing the contributions of the parents’ organization to the improvement of school programs, facilities, and learner support initiatives.

Ms. Nadjah A. Malang, SMEA Coordinator, presented the status of school programs and projects, providing participants with an overview of the implementation and progress of the school’s various initiatives. This was followed by a presentation on the follow-up of stakeholders’ pledges by Ms. Unice D. Diao, SGC Member, reinforcing accountability and continued engagement among the school’s partners.

The forum was graced by representatives and partners from various institutions and organizations, including Ms. Suzanne Rose Duran, School Principal of the Agro-Industrial Foundation of the Philippines; Ms. Rose Ume from Japan; the Bureau of Fire Protection – Bucana Station; the 1105th Community Defense Center (1105CDC) of the 11th Regional Community Defense Group, Reserve Command, Philippine Army; the Barangay Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council – Bucana; the University of Mindanao; and a PTA representative. All teaching personnel of VCNNHS likewise participated in the activity.

As part of the program, the school formally recognized its partners and stakeholders and highlighted the benefits of sustained collaboration between the school and the community. The forum also provided an open discussion of concerns and recommendations, giving participants an opportunity to share insights, suggestions, and possible areas for future cooperation.

The agreements and next steps reached during the forum were presented by Ms. Shiela Mae S. Deguma-Romagos, SGC Designated Co-Chairperson, helping establish clear directions for continued partnership and collaborative action. Mr. Ronald V. Bolanio, Assistant to the Principal, delivered the closing remarks, expressing gratitude to all participants for their time, commitment, and support to the school.

VCNNHS also extends its sincere appreciation to the Supreme Secondary Learner Government (SSLG) Officers, Boy Scouts, and Girl Scouts for their valuable assistance throughout the conduct of the activity. Their service and active participation contributed greatly to the orderly and successful implementation of the forum.

The Stakeholders’ Forum reaffirmed that the development of learners is a shared responsibility that extends beyond the walls of the classroom. Through strengthened partnerships with parents, government agencies, educational institutions, community organizations, and other stakeholders, VCNNHS continues to build a network of support that responds to the needs of every learner.

With sustained cooperation and shared commitment, Vicenta C. Nograles National High School moves forward with its stakeholders as partners in creating meaningful, lasting, and positive change for the entire school community.

September 10, 2026 — Vicenta C. Nograles National High School (VCNNHS) successfully conducted the Distribution of Report Cards for Term 1 of School Year 2026–2027 for learners from Grades 7 to 12, followed by a school-wide Parents’ Meeting aimed at strengthening collaboration between the school and families in supporting learners’ academic progress, discipline, safety, and well-being.

The activity commenced at 8:30 a.m. and concluded at 11:45 a.m. Parents and guardians met with class advisers to receive and review the Term 1 report cards of their children. The distribution provided an opportunity to discuss learners’ academic performance, accomplishments, areas for improvement, and other concerns that may require continued coordination between the school and the home.

Following the distribution of report cards, parents and guardians participated in an orientation and discussion on important school policies and learner responsibilities.

Among the major topics discussed was the Learners’ Handbook, with emphasis on the standards of conduct, responsibilities, and expectations that guide learners while inside the school and during school-related activities. Parents were encouraged to familiarize themselves with these provisions and to work closely with teachers in promoting discipline, responsibility, respect, and positive behavior among learners.

The school likewise conducted a re-orientation on DepEd Order No. 006, s. 2026, titled “Guidelines on Ensuring a Safe and Motivating Learning Environment.” The discussion highlighted the shared responsibility of the school, parents, and other stakeholders in maintaining a learning environment that safeguards the welfare, protection, security, and well-being of learners.

Particular emphasis was also given to the strict wearing of the prescribed school uniform. Parents and guardians were reminded to ensure that learners report to school in proper uniform, as this supports the school’s safety and security measures by facilitating the proper identification of bona fide learners entering and staying within the campus. The policy also promotes discipline, order, and a sense of belonging among learners.

The Parents’ Meeting also served as an avenue for parents and guardians to raise concerns, clarify school policies, and strengthen communication with teachers regarding the education and development of their children.

Through the successful conduct of the Term 1 Report Card Distribution and Parents’ Meeting for School Year 2026–2027, VCNNHS reaffirmed the importance of a strong home-school partnership in helping learners achieve academically while developing responsibility, discipline, and positive values.

VCNNHS remains committed to working closely with parents and guardians in building a safe, disciplined, supportive, and learner-centered school community where every Vicentian is given the opportunity to grow, learn, and succeed.
