IN PHOTOS | On November 15, 2025, the Department of Anthropology - Ateneo de Davao University conducted the "Hugpong: Coastal Communities and Material Culture" learning visit, exploring the convergence of seascape-based knowledge, architectural heritage, and contemporary creativity in Panglao and Dauis.
Centering on coastal lifeways and maritime heritage, the department, alongside participants from the 47th UGAT Ugnayang Pang-Aghamtao Conference, engaged directly with local fishing communities, including the Nagmando Fisherfolk of Doljo.
The visit also included Panglao Watchtower within the San Agustin Parish Church complex and the Assumption of Our Lady Shrine Parish—both officially recognized as National Cultural Treasures and National Historical Landmarks.
A stopover at Amarela Art Gallery enriched the experience, displaying a collection of wooden works and colorful art pieces that presented Bohol's local history and daily life.
