This conference tries to:
a) To stimulate the exchange of ideas and foster collaboration among faculty, students, and graduate researchers by highlighting the importance of data-driven research and its impact on economic recovery;
b) To empower students and young researchers to elevate their research efforts in addressing industry - specific challenges, bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application; and
c)To provide a platform for showcasing innovative, data-driven situations to economic disruptions, thereby fostering a culture of research and development that can drive sustainable economic recovery.

The Conference is FREE for UM Students. Php 1,500 shall be paid by researchers who are faculty members of the University, external researchers, and/or Graduate School students. The IEES Research Congress invites submission of academic and professional research abstracts from the full range of business and economics disciplines, including all sub-fields and related topics in Economics, Accounting, Finance, Marketing, Management, and Business Ethics. Research papers/abstracts cutting across business and non-business disciplines (e.g., education, engineering, law, politics, psychology, sociology, IT and analytics, etc.) are also welcome.
The IEES Research Congress encourages discussions on research in progress. Peer reviewed abstracts will be published in the conference proceedings.
Interested parties without papers/abstracts for presentation are also invited to participate as attendees at the IEES Research Congress.

UM undergraduate students who are official delegates of the congress and who will be presenting their paper are entitled free admission to the conference, subject to the approval of the Congress Abstract Committee.
The registration fee includes conference attendance, IEES digital conference proceedings, and certificate of presentation/attendance. If the same attending author will present more than one paper, the fee for each additional paper is also Php 1,500.00.
If your paper is multi-authored and more than one author will attend the conference, each attending author needs to register separately and pay individual registration fee separately.
Policy for cancellation of registration: For cancellations made before the Congress date, the registration fee is refundable after deducting 25% administrative charge. The registration fee is non-refundable for non-appearance during Congress.

β’ A maximum of three static PowerPoint slides is permitted. No animations or 'movement' in the slides or in the background of any. No description is allowed. The slides are to be presented from the beginning of the oration.
β’ No additional electronic media (e.g., sound and video files) are permitted.
β’ No additional props (e.g., costumes, musical instruments, laboratory equipment) are permitted, worn or carried by the 3MT presenter during the delivery of his/her pitch.
β’ Presentations are limited to three minutes maximum and competitors, presentations or submissions exceeding this are disqualified.
β’ Presentations are to be spoken word (e.g., no poems, raps, or songs).
β’ Presentations are considered to have commenced when a presenter starts their presentation through either movement or speech.

Posters are widely used in the academic community, and most conferences include poster presentations in their program. Research posters summarize information or research concisely and attractively to help publicize it and generate discussion. As a general rule, the poster is usually a mixture of a brief text mixed with tables, graphs, pictures, and other presentation formats. However, the following minimum guidelines must be considered in the preparation:
β’ Important information should be readable in a full screen.
β’ Title is short and draws interest
β’ Word count of about 300 to 800 words
β’ Text is clear and to the point
β’ Use of bullets, numbering, and headlines is encouraged.
β’ Effective use of graphics, colour, and fonts
β’ Consistent and clean layout
β’ Includes acknowledgments, your name and institutional affiliation

As a general rule, no presentation is allowed for research with abstracts not approved by the Congress Abstract Committee. Submission of abstracts shall be made via email. Send the abstracts to [email protected], following the sample in the next page.
1. Oral presentation is at maximum of 10 minutes.
2. Reaction time for the two reactors is two (2) minutes each reactor, including your brief response to those.
3. No need for each presenter to make long self-introduction since you will be introduced by the assigned moderator in your session. Proceed immediately with your presentation to save time.
4. Generally, you should present, not read your slides.
5. Attire is smart casual or business when you present.
6. Slides shall be sent to [email protected] at least 24 hours before the Congress should you encounter glitch or disconnection.
